Merck Specialist – Service Delivery / Management for Finance in Branchburg, New Jersey

We are seeking an energetic and forward-thinking professional to join our Information Technology group in Branchburg, NJ. As a Specialist in the AMS (Finance) team, you will be focused on preserving the continuity for our Company's Finance application(s).

The candidate will provide functional design and guidance for the Finance Business Management processes that relates to their respective Finance application(s). The candidate will work hand in hand with our Managed Services partner to ensure all work is performed using defined processes and meets Service Level Agreements for effective execution of Incident management as well as alignment of these processes to the Change management process. The candidate will Ensure IT Service Management, SDLC, processes and procedures remain updated and are adhered to. Additionally, from time to time this person will oversee some cross-functional projects and assists with program wide initiatives.

  • 5 + years’ experience with Finance process and applications.

  • Ability to coordinate and interact amongst different support groups to accomplish a successful Financial Close.

  • Coordinate system /infrastructure upgrades/patches so there is no impact the Finance close.

  • Excellent verbal/written skills needed to convey I.T. actions to Finance Management and Business requirement to I.T. teams.

  • Ability to analyze, convey and implement solutions in limited critical timeframes.

  • Experience with our Company's Change control process to implement planned and emergency change requests.

  • Ability to analyze current process and recommend system improvements.

  • Experience in SAP Finance modules a plus.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance, Business, IT or equivalent.

  • Advanced degree a plus.

  • Experience in SAP environment ECC 6.0 and above would be a plus.

  • Experienced with the following Project Tools and Methodologies;

  • Agile and Scrum Methodologies

  • HP/ALM

  • Remedy

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work as part of both physical and virtual teams.

  • Adept at understanding internal customer challenges, navigating from problem to resolution and communicating the resolution effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to interact comfortably with all level of managements and peers.

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple deliverables and projects at the same time

  • Ability and interest to support other Enterprise Finance application (s) that are not part of SAP suites of applications.
