Job Summary

Through the current successes of the AECOM Brisbane Water Resources & Coastal Management Team, we are looking immediately to recruit civil/environmental engineers with various years of experience to be part of and influence the continued growth of our business. With our focus and strategy of providing multi-disciplinary integrated delivery of water resources services across all industry sectors, we offer a broad variety of office and site-based opportunities.

We are known as industry leaders in the delivery of water resources projects, particularly in the areas of flood risk assessment, coastal engineering, hydrological and hydraulic modelling, drainage design and mine water management. Our team is currently working on five sections of the Inland Rail project in QLD and NSW, which spans approximately 400km. The work involves large-scale flood and drainage studies that interface with rail and road infrastructure designs. We are also involved in hydrological, hydraulic and water quality investigations associated with the Impact Assessment Report for the Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro Project. We support other AECOM business lines and offices, and also help to develop solutions to support major transport projects such as the Bruce Highway Link Flood Study and Cross River Rail.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3 years’ minimum relevant professional experience, with more senior roles having higher requirements;

  • Successful track record in winning and delivering work within a consultancy environment, to a high technical standard;

  • Demonstrated experience with water resource modelling packages such as TUFLOW, MIKE, DRAINS, HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), RORB, XP-RAFTS, URBS, XP-STORM, MUSIC, GoldSim, OpSim etc.

  • Experience with 12D design software;

  • Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcMap and QGIS;

  • Knowledge of detail road and rail designs;

  • Good working knowledge of ARR2016, TMR Drainage Manual, and QUDM; and,

  • Programming skills in VBA, Python etc. would be desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant Engineering discipline, Water Resource Management or Environmental Science/Hydrology essential;

  • RPEQ/CPEng highly regarded (essential for senior roles)
