Shell Maintenance Superintendent in Brisbane & Chinchilla, Australia

The Maintenance Superintendent is a key role in our QGC Asset based in Brisbane but with regular field interaction. In this role you will drive continuous improvement activities as directed by the Maintenance Manager in the field with the support of the Maintenance Excellence team and Maintenance Superintendents.
You will be expected to have a strong understanding of maintenance and operations management.
Some of the key deliverables and responsibilities of this role are:
Work closely with the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Leadership on strategic initiatives to improve planning and scheduling preparation, efficiency and effectiveness for the areas.
Evaluate, create and implement a management structure for the completion of major servicing campaigns
Promote effective contractor management, supporting the Maintenance Manager in their role as contract owner.
Provide input to plans with respect to maintenance budget, forecasts, resourcing needs, shutdown/overhaul strategies, and project interfaces.
Support the review and monitoring of upstream maintenance resources across the areas to optimise overall field manpower.
Provide functional support to the Maintenance Manager and Superintendents in the development of supervisors and support the enablement of the MRTA succession plan for Maintenance Superintendents.
Provide leadership, mentoring, coaching, guidance and support to direct reports.
Develop succession plans for the team and work to position personnel in roles to foster development
The incumbent must adhere to the annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes

As the successful candidate for the role you should have:
Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering discipline or relevant industry experience is desirable.
Demonstrated experience in frontline maintenance leadership.
Demonstrated experience in the development of policies and procedures.
Demonstrated experience with Permit to Work (PTW) systems and safety monitoring systems.
Extensive experience in operations and maintenance from either onshore/offshore gas, oil or refining facilities in a leadership role.
Demonstrated experience managing, coaching and developing staff; managing performance appraisals and setting objectives.
Continuous improvement accreditation will regarded
Ability to identify emerging trends and can foresee maintenance risks and opportunities.
Knowledge of the gas production process for gas or oil producing facilities.
