Software Development Manager
B.S. or Masters in computer engineering or equivalent
Senior level software development experience, proven track record of making technical decisions using database technologies and OO languages
Previous Software Design experience
Previous experience in leading team, coaching and mentoring of your colleagues
Great problem solving skills and ability to abstract functional requirements
Agile (SCRUM, SCRUMBan, Kanban, …) experience from previous SCRUM master role(s)
Knowledge of Design Patterns, Object Programming Paradigm and SOLID principles
Very good communication skills in English are required
Open minded and very collaborative
Train and support new hires
Lead single team of developers
Actively contribute to source code
Lead design and technical implementation
Cooperate with QAs
Ensure quality products (refactoring, testing, documentation, scalability and performance)
Enforce agile practices, collaborate with scrum master, product owner and tech-writer. Act as a scrum master if needed.
Manage administration (attendance, PTO, procurement)
Set and review individual goals and review

Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.
Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically one year of software engineering or related experience.
