Oracle System Administrator in BRNO, Czech Republic
Cloud Systems Engineering team that supports the NetSuite Global Business Unit at Oracle NetSuite is looking for a senior system administrator / DevOps engineer to join us in Brno. The person will help us design, develop, and implement the services that support operations infrastructure for NetSuite Core application running in classical DCs, as well as in Oracle Cloud.
Some of the services we're responsible for include the following (the list is not complete, but provides an idea about what we do):
VPN services across various environments (OpenVPN)
Authenticated proxies that provide access to restricted resources inside our datacenters (squid)
Multi-factor authentication service (RSA, Google MFA)
Authentication and authorization service for engineers and systems (LDAP)
System security services (security scanner agents, Illumio)
Corporate services (Confluence, JIRA)
Virtualization service (Nutanix)
We're responsible for the technical design, implementation, and life cycle of the services we own. We ensure they run smoothly and are accurately documented.
Your day-to-day tasks include:
participating in technical discussions within the organization about the services design and implementation
making design decisions about services in scope
creating and presenting technical design proposals to the stakeholders, and bringing the designs to life by using your professional expertise in Linux system administration, scripting languages, and configuration management technologies
documenting and handoff service monitoring and maintenance tasks to the appropriate teams within the organization
being an escalation point for complex issues for the services you created
using your troubleshooting skills and technical expertise to define a problem, propose the most effective solution and implement it
sharing your knowledge with your teammates
participating in incident and problem management discussions with the service users
collaborating with other teams such as Network Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, and application development team
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can design services and implement them. They can teach and empower other organizations to consume the services across a wide range of technologies within a fast-paced environment.
We're looking for a mix of skills and expertise; if 2-3 items from the below list apply to you, do reach out to us:
experience in building, managing, and troubleshooting infrastructure services advanced Linux system and server administration skills
experience with writing or debugging utility scripts (Python, Bash)
experience with Linux authorization/authentication technologies and services (any of: 389-ds, FreeIPA, plain OpenLDAP)
experience with Linux virtualization technologies and hardware management utilities (any of: plain KVM, VMware, Proxmox, oVirt, or others)
experience with infrastructure "harness" services and technologies (VPN, proxies, "bastion host" concept)
basic knowledge of Linux containers and container scheduling services (Docker/Kubernetes, Helm)
basic understanding of all underlying datacenter service components (IP networking, OS imaging, DHCP, DNS, SMTP or others)
basic knowledge of the management and usage of Cloud Services Architectures: OCI, AWS, Azure, GCE or others
ability and strive to document your solutions, and update existing documentation
excellent troubleshooting/problem-solving skills
flexibility, adaptability, and a built-in desire to learn more
strong affinity for DevOps methodologies and tools
general understanding of DevOps concepts and processes: Change Management, Incident Response, and Problem Management
excellent knowledge and experience with OEL, RHEL or other RPM-based Linux distribution
experience with OpenBSD
experience with system security auditing tools (Qualys, Wazuh/Tanium)
experience with Linux security technologies (grsec, SELinux, Linux Auditing System)
experience, and internals knowledge of Atlassian products, or any Java-based high-loaded web service
experience with SaltStack configuration management software efficiently design, implement, debug and report findings using an industry-standard suite of tools (Confluence, JIRA, Git, Jenkins) and related processes (Agile, Kanban boards, Scrum, Build/Test automation)Some domestic and international travel may be required.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Define, design, and implement network communications and solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database/applications company.
Perform performance trend analysis and manage the server/network capacity. Propose client configuration and implement technical solutions to enhance and/or troubleshoot the system. Work with others to define, coordinate vendor purchase needs. Responsible for support documentation as well.
Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years of related experience in a medium to large network distributed and computing environment. BS in Computer Science or related field.
