Job Brief

Working Team Lead that manages staff, resolves highly complex problems, re-allocates resources when necessary and eases workloads during periods of peak volume. Work with Department Manager on developing and implementing strategic direction for the team to exceed client expectations. Assist the Department Manager with associate performance management, including establishing performance goals and providing feedback on performance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Monitor and manage workload assigned to employees to ensure effective and efficient processing of all requests.

  • Monitor workflow and ensure that the deliverables meet or exceed established service level agreements and objectives for quality. Manage exception situations where SLA will be missed to minimize client impact and risk to the firm.

  • Oversee daily/monthly processing of Pension and Lump Sum Benefits including IRA Payments, through the processing of Checks, EFT s, and Wires.

  • Oversee daily/monthly/quarterly/and yearly processing of federal and state withholding payments, forms, and required reporting to the IRS and various state agencies.

  • Oversee the monthly/annual reporting to Plan Sponsors.

  • Ensure timely reporting and completion of all stale and escheated checks.

  • Responsible for a Disaster Recovery and Alternate Site Testing.

  • Understands and can perform all functions within the department. Act as backup to the Department Manager and associates on the team.

  • Proactively identify and resolve issues of a complex or sensitive nature.

  • Develop new employees or existing employees through cross training opportunities. Provide appropriate feedback during training to ensure that employees are learning the proper processes and achieving the expected level of performance.

  • Provides appropriate feedback to Manager on performance of team and associates. Assist with Performance Reviews.

  • Compile and complete weekly and monthly departmental stats reporting.

MARGINAL OR PERIPHERAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Document processes to written procedures, guidelines or process work flows.

  • Interact with auditors and different lines of business on an as needed basis.

  • Responsible for the reporting of Global Plus system problems, participating in resolution of issues, documenting, testing system fixes and coordinating routine system regression testing.

  • Reviews work processes for opportunities for improvement. Initiates, develops, and implements process improvement..

  • Represents unit, department and/or division in various project/iniatives as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four-year degree in business with a concentration in finance, accounting, management or equivalent work experience.

  • Three to five years of operations or supervisiory experience.

  • Strong leadership and communications skills demonstrated in a team-based business setting. Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.

  • Sound business judgment as evidenced by success in ability to prioritize tasks, escalate and resolve issues while meeting required deadlines.

  • Quality focused, with the ability to develop and foster an environment of accountability and ownership.
