Olympus America Inc. Inspector, Quality II in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota
As a Quality Inspector II working on the Receiving Inspection team, you will be empowered and inspired to do your best work. You will contribute to our mission by supporting the business by ensuring product conforms to specifications and championing quality principles within the organization to ensure that the cost of quality is minimized and productivity is maximized. A typical day for you will include:
Performing incoming or first article inspection.
Creating support records and reports.
Understanding lot sampling per ANSI/ASQ Z1.4-2008.
Performing final/sterile release of products.
Performing in-process inspections.
Performing label inspection.
Performing DHR final review.
Performing specified functional inspection tests.
Participating in cross-functional teams to solve quality issues.
Working both independently and in a team environment.
Assisting co-workers with training of Quality standards and requirements.
Communicating inspection information to Operations and Quality personnel.
Initiating NCR’s (non-conforming report) when quality standards dictate, and assist in MRB activities.
Assisting Quality Engineers with data-gathering activities to support validations and/or studies.
Coaching operations staff on Quality requirements.
Operating advanced measurement systems.
Maintaining acceptable standards for attendance and work overtime as needed.

High School Diploma or equivalent; Two-year Technical Degree is preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Quality control regulated industry is required, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have knowledge and experience to operate the following inspection tools: caliper, micrometer, optical comparator, CMM, pin gages, microscope.
Knowledge and experience to operate the following advanced measurement systems: Vision System and SmartScope.
Basic computer skills as required to perform job duties.
Must have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
