Oracle Consulting Project Senior Director in Broomfield, Colorado
This senior director position is responsible for an increasingly diverse portfolio based upon complexity of the customers, solutions, and dollar value of the portfolio. Directs business operations and resources of a given portfolio, which can be defined by industry, service line, technology center, specialty area or region. Responsibilities include people management, project oversight, and sales enablement.
Accountable for fulfilling business goals, meeting budgets, maintaining project/portfolio profitability while ensuring quality of project delivery and customer referenceability. Responsible for creating operational policies in support of strategic objectives. Oversees solutions and estimates in support of the sales process. Responsible for cultivating Oracle cross-functional communications through the creation and maintenance of strategic relationships with management in other lines of business including Product Development, Product Marketing, Support, Consulting Sales, and License Sales. Interacts with executive levels both internally and externally regarding matters that influence policies and strategies. Assesses and manages business risks in pursuit of overall business goals. Is accountable for managing a substantive and profitable revenue stream and customer base. Typically manages multiple project/program managers and/or senior level individual contributors. Serves as advisor or project sponsor role for complex engagements.
12 years of experience relevant to this position, including 3 years of project management experience. Second-level management experience preferred; proficient at managing managers and large team. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects of increasing complexity with commensurate professional sophistication. Comfortable working in matrix management environment. Strong influencing/negotiation skills to deal with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors. Product, technology or industry expertise relevant to the portfolio focus. Proficient in using selling and negotiation techniques and tools. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Ability to travel as needed.

Ensure Quality of Consulting Delivery and customer satisfaction on Application Migration projects resulting ultimately in customer references
Manage assigned projects, be responsible for accurate status reporting, project progress, lessons learned, financials, adherence to methodology/SOP s, meeting customer s objectives etc.
Lead project teams in delivering Oracle Cloud migration solutions to the assigned customers
Champion re-use on the projects for developed artifacts and providing feedback into the Oracle Consulting delivery organization to enable constant improvement of our delivery
As required, develop collateral for use in educating clients about Cloud (IaaS/PaaS) opportunities to address their business goals, priorities, and challenges.
Interact with C-level client management to influence their strategic direction and decision-making.
Guide key decision making processes to ensure Client goals are achieved using the appropriate balance of technical and process change so that the end result is sustainable and closely matches the ERP Cloud roadmap with minimal technical debt.
Negotiate the proper balance of PaaS vs. SaaS solutions that fulfil the Client needs and maximizes the future state of the solution for Oracle and the Client.
Review and provide guidance, suggestions and recommendations on Application Migration proposals/bids as the deal solutions are scoped, designed, estimated, and sold to the clients.
Help ensure a successful transition between Bid, Client and the delivery teams at the start of the projects.
Collaborate/Escalate with Oracle Product, Sales teams to help resolve critical product issues impacting projects and relationships with the customers.
Establish oneself on the projects as a first Oracle go to person/trusted advisor for Customer Executives.
Communication Skills:Strong communication skills are a key competency for this role. Applicants should be confident presenting to large audiences and to a range of levels of seniority including C level executives. They should also be confident communicating in smaller groups and 1:1 with C level executives. Applicants should also feel comfortable facilitating workshops. Although this role would not typically deliver in depth demonstrations, we would expect the successful candidate to be comfortable leading and delivering high-level Application Migration and Cloud presentations. Track record of effectively and accurately communicating technical and non-technical messages across the entire team spectrum. Strong negotiation skills, especially where solution decisions (e.g. SaaS vs. PaaS) are concerned.
Customer Focus:A strong focus on building relationships with customers is crucial for this role. Skilled at quickly understanding the Client operational and business flow so that decisions support the best interest and practice leading to the desired Client future state. Solid practical knowledge of organizational and individual change is critical to success.
Project Delivery Mastery:Demonstrated ability to follow project management principles and a track record of having managed successfully Application migration/upgrade projects (HR, Fin, etc.). Ability to provide leadership and guidance to the project teams and clients through difficulties and challenges encountered during projects delivery. Capable of mentoring more junior project managers and teams through adoption of project management and delivery practices.
Solution Mastery:We are looking for a good technical understanding of any of the following Oracle applications; EBS, PSFT, SEBL or JD Edwards. Previous experience with ERP application migrations between different Hardware/Platforms, Data Centers and/or Oracle Application upgrades is desired.
Strong project management skills. Proactively manages and adjusts to the dynamic needs of the internal customer base. Ability to prioritize simultaneous and competing projects/deliverables/deadlines to successful completion (i.e. in a quality and timely manner) while keeping focus on strategic and Client established priorities.
PMP or Prince2 certification required. Agile, Scrum and Lean certification or training a plus.
Experienced in delivery of complex projects/programs with an understanding of Agile, Waterfall and Adaptive project management.
Team-player with a clear leadership mindset; excellent collaboration skills in a cross-functional and matrix environment. Proven ability to work with Sales, Product Management/Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Executives.
Outstanding knowledge of MS Project, Excel (including advanced reporting, formula, and pivot tables), PowerPoint, Visio and Word.
5 years of experience with Oracle Technology and Application Delivery Consulting (or equivalent)
10 years of experience as a project/program manager with an emphasis on IT projects.
Attention to detail and accuracy, strong commitment to quality.
Strategic thinking and problem solving ability (e.g. ability to conceptually frame problems and identify creative solutions)
Strong leadership skills and outstanding ability to influence, persuade, and build confidence and trust.
Guide, coach, and mentor more junior project managers and team resources with an objective of contributing to their professional growth.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and writing skills - examples of prior work will be requested
High level of discretion and organizational awareness. Ability to handle and communicate delicate information both from a Client and Oracle perspective.
Up to 50% travel required for this position, with possible increased travel during key periods of a project based on Client needs and direction.
