Data Scientist Senior Manager
The Sr. Manager, Product Evaluation role is critical to ongoing success of ODC by helping to ensure that its products maintain highest levels of quality, and that ODC continues to be perceived as the market leader in digital audiences and measurement of digital marketing effectiveness.
The Sr. Manager Data Science Product Evaluation is responsible for developing and deploying initiatives that evaluate the accuracy and quality of ODC products from a client perspective. The role will also involve determining business priorities for what products need attention first. Additionally, the role will be responsible for ideating and innovating evaluation methods, including the strategic use of external partners whose solutions can deliver value to ODC in the evaluation process.
In developing these initiatives, the Sr. Manager will interface and collaborate closely with key internal teams, including Data Science R&D, Enterprise Product, BizDev, and Go-to-Market and other client facing teams. The role will be a key agent for change and progress across the org by driving alignment on priorities, methods, and action plans suggested by outcomes of the evaluation work.
Primary responsibilities include:
Be primary evangelist and advocate internally for strategic importance of ongoing product evaluation efforts.
Initiate, scope, manage, and execute projects designed to evaluate and assess quality of ODC DS customer-facing products
Working with internal stakeholders, build and maintain schedule of assessment priorities
Brainstorm, ideate, innovate evaluate methods for products needing assessment
Create processes to calibrate any external data with internal metrics and truth sets.
Discover, investigate and assess external partners whose solutions may add value in ODC’s overall evaluation strategy, and assist in negotiation of partnership terms.
Drive alignment between internal stakeholders (Data Science, Product, Verticals, and GTM) on assessment priorities, criteria, methods, approaches, and implications of outcomes
Build and manage remediation plans for underperforming products
Skills and Qualifications:
BA or BS in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering. Advanced degree in marketing or quantitative discipline desirable.
3 years in leadership/management of data science/analytic team.
Exceptional verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
Collaborative, positive attitude with desire to work in a demanding, fast paced, and dynamic work environment for a rapidly growing company
Demonstrated technical experience a big plus
Cloud computing experience a plus.
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Leads a team of people who design, develop and program methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement.
Plans, manages, and controls the activities of a team that interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments. Brings expertise or identifies subject matter experts in an effort to integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. Advises business groups by providing direction to initiative prioritization, integration and resource application. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel ensuring efficient operation of the function.
Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas or sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. BA/BS degree preferred.
