Within Oracle Consulting, our architects own the architectural design of Oracle solutions for prospective and existing customers. The same team also works on the development of ‘go to market solutions’ for market place. These are senior roles to act as the link between Oracle sales and delivery teams in the Consulting organisation.

The HCM Architect ensures solution feasibility and mitigates risk by leveraging a network of subject matter experts in the various domains. The HCM Architect is also capable of proposing customer roadmaps to realise the proposed solution.

Currently a need exists for an experienced HCM Architect with a focus on functional process architecture and design across all disciplines of the HCM function. Oracle application knowledge is desirable but not essential.

SCOPE OF THE ROLE

The HCM Architect is responsible for designing, developing and supporting business solutions leveraging the latest versions of Oracle HCM Cloud, including modules like Sourcing, Hiring and On-boarding, Performance Management and Goals, Learning, Compensation and Benefits, etc.

  • Works on client-billable and pre-sales assignments to lead the solution development

  • Works with sales and delivery to ensure solutions are both sellable and deliverable to a profit

RESPONSIBILITITES

  • Translates business goals into appropriate HR solutions while assessing feasibility and optimization of the solution for our customers

  • Cultivates and demonstrates thorough HCM business process knowledge. Proactively identify process improvements including clear and focused solutions

  • Develops proofs of concept to demonstrate proposed technical solutions as required

  • Provides guidance in the definition of solution design practices and standards that link back to Oracle Modern Best Practices

  • Will act as HR trusted advisor for our customers

  • To develop compelling, profitable and realistic customer solutions

  • To be commercially astute when engaging and advising a customer

  • To bring leadership to customer and Oracle interactions

  • To act as ambassadors for Oracle application solutions throughout a customer engagement

  • Develops and maintains working relationships with a diverse group of business, functional and technical teams

  • Demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex solutions to different stakeholders, demonstrate smart design techniques and mentor other team members.

  • Work closely with client, sales, pre-sales and delivery staff to develop a robust architecture

  • Take full ownership of “best practices” in the HCM area, covering the whole strategic footprint

  • Develop strong relationships with the product lines and in co-operation with the Delivery Management teams, advise on competency requirements

  • Take full accountability for the architectural solution of a pre-sales opportunity or project

  • Form and maintain strong relationships with colleagues in product development

  • Manage the re-use and knowledge management of their competency area

  • Provide sales awareness to the sales and delivery community within Oracle Consulting

  • Engage profitably with counterparts from other parts of the EMEA region

Knowledge and Competency Requirements

  • Degree educated or equivalent

  • Over 10 years of demonstrable experience with HCM solutions at a consultancy or customer including business process analysis, systems analysis and design, and technical/functional solutions delivery

  • Ideally French and Dutch speaker

  • Experience of Oracle applications is desirable but not essential

  • Detailed knowledge of all the major business processes and associated functionality in the HCM domain

  • Strong in development methodologies including strong troubleshooting and issue resolutions skills

  • Excellent facilitation skills, including experience planning and participating in blueprint and design sessions. Have been through at least 4 complete implementation cycles

  • Proven leadership in managing, governing and providing oversight of internal teams, 3rd party integrators, consultants and vendors through various initiatives

  • Must be self-motivated in learning new concepts and willing to share knowledge and skills with other team members

  • Outspoken and passionate about delivering well designed solutions that exceed business objectives and drive business success for our customers

  • Must have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex solutions and ideas

  • Can demonstrate a strong awareness of the differences between cloud and on-premise solutions and their benefits

  • Commercially astute

  • Excellent knowledge of methods, product standards and architectural roadmaps, including TOGAF, OUM

  • Deep, proven architecture experience of their competence area

  • Ability to present an argument: persuasive

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

As a recognized authority and leading contributor within their practice, this senior-level consulting position provides consistent high quality and innovative solution leadership to a project team. Leads the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget.

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to deliver functional and technical solutions on non-routine and very complex aspects of applications and technology installations. Provides direction and mentoring to project teams, and effectively influences customer leadership on key decisions. Supports the business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain expertise. Resolves complex customer issues by recommending and implementing solutions. Demonstrates expertise in multiple business processes across two or more product families or ability to architect and design technology solutions encompassing multiple products and make decisions based on impact across the stack.

8-10 years of experience relevant to this position including 4 years of consulting experience. Prior team leadership or management experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to travel as needed.
