Oracle Product Development Sales and Engagement Cloud Center of Excellent (CoE) team members are committed to ensuring that our customers are successful. Most of us have years of experience in Product Management, Pre-Sales, Consulting, Curriculum Development or Technical Writing working with Oracle Sales Cloud, CRM On Demand, Siebel, Oracle's E-Business Suite or other enterprise software.
A Best Practices Content Developer on the CoE team works alongside implementation and technical experts in the organization, as well as Product Development and other Oracle teams, to capture and disseminate expert knowledge and best practices content. The successful candidate will have excellent writing skills and experience working with technical subject matter experts to develop learning resource materials, for both technical and less technical audiences. An ideal candidate will have experience in technical writing or course development for software products and services.
Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you will interact regularly, primarily remotely, with other members of the Sales and Engagement Cloud Product Development CoE team, Field Customer Success and Support teams, and members of the Product Development teams. You will interact and collaborate with similar roles on other Cloud Applications teams. You will identify, shape, and publish expert knowledge to help customers and partners configure, extend, and fully utilize the application to meet business requirements. You will not produce the standard product documentation and training, however you will interact with and advise the teams that do. Key responsibilities include:
Develop best practice learning materials, including documentation, presentations, exam questions, and videos, that contain the right tone and level of detail for a Cloud applications implementation audience.
Develop and present live webcasts to customer and partner audiences.
Capture best practice expertise in other supporting education vehicles, such as knowledge base solutions, wikis, blogs, and community discussion forums.
Develop resources and templates that successfully guide customers through lifecycle stages (project initiation, upgrades, and major product changes) and to better use the full application, often in collaboration with other product teams.
Write and refine customer-appropriate email notifications and other communications.
Use various internal communication mechanisms to inform Oracle employees that support our customers.
Manage the subject matter expert (SME) interaction and review process for all assigned projects.
Deliver live presentations and webinars to internal and external audiences, as required (less than 25%).
Represent the voice of the customer across Oracle teams to ensure we continue to press towards a vastly simplified ‘cloud experience.’
Experience and Skills
Work is non-routine and complex, involving the application of advanced information design and writing skills. This role contributes individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field of study.
Background in curriculum development or technical writing.
5 years of experience in developing materials and learning strategies for implementation users of CRM applications, including the use of common e-learning applications (e.g., Camtasia, Captivate, Articulate).
Clear concise communication skills; written, verbal, and presentation. (Writing samples are required.)
Fluency with written and spoken communication in English is required.
Experience working with technical subject matter experts to develop learning resource materials for a less technical audience.
Experience delivering training presentations; comfortable learning, explaining, and abstracting technical topics.
Experience with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) is desirable; domain experience with Oracle Cloud applications, a plus.
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office authoring products.
Strong project management skills: able to define detailed plan and dependencies, hit target dates, communicate risks, and deliver quality product.
Proven ability to think critically, solve problems, and take initiative.
Self-directed with demonstrated high levels of productivity. Able to multi-task several projects, with minimal supervision, simultaneously with a positive attitude.
Enthusiastic about information design and knowledgeable about current trends and technologies in the field.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance, test or user manuals for paper, multimedia or web-based publications. Contributes to the timely design, production and delivery/completion of product documentation and document sets.
As a member of the technical writing division, you will design, create and deliver whole product documentation sets and/or related courseware. Edit, organize and direct the work activities of other technical writers and staff. Plan the format, arrange the layout of publications and edit work for conformance to publication standards and specifications.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
