IBM Linux/AIX OS Administrator in BUCHAREST, Romania

Job Description

Customers that need resilient infrastructure and the ability to scale up to large databases with many users gain the most benefit from Cloud Managed Services (CMS). With CMS, we build and manage the infrastructure including OS management, patching, backup, security, compliance with SLA's at the VM level.

This position involves troubleshooting Linux/Suse/AIX issues, configuring infrastructure software, security findings remediation, patching support , and other administration tasks in a cloud environment.

  • Working with a ticketing software (Incidents, Service requests and Change management).

  • Configuring, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting Linux/Suse/AIX VMs and physical servers. Performing audit tasks on cloud servers.

  • Creating documentation and procedures (SOPs). Guiding and training junior colleagues.

  • Communicating with and offering support to dedicated customers and other support teams located in the EU, US, India etc.

  • Compliance with SLAs for tickets, projects and tasks.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 2 years’ experience working with RHEL / Suse / AIX OS as a Remote Admin

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Experience troubleshooting OS Performance Issues and creating RCAs

  • Incident and Change management process experience.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work both in a team and alone

  • Romanian: Fluent

  • English: Fluent

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Clustered filesystem experience (GPFS, VCS)

  • vSphere Installation/Configuration/Management, XEN

  • Knowledge of IBM tools such as TSM, ITM

  • Configuration management tools, such as Puppet and Chef
