The Demo Engineering team within Section One brings transformative business ideas to life through live demos, and other visualizations that harness the unique value that only Oracle can provide in the marketplace.

We are looking for an ambitious, self-motivated individual to contribute and manage Section One Demo Engineers who will create concepts and designs that enables every Oracle customer to shape innovation that delivers real business value. Ideal candidates have a passion for creative thinking, visual design, strategy & innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of 5 demo engineers focused on rapid prototyping of innovative solutions

  • Manage and prioritize the backlog using an Agile development methodology

  • Rapidly create prototypes and demonstration that can run on the Oracle Cloud platform

  • Maintain a user-centered design approach as you tackle complex design problems

  • Balance great design with business goals and meeting tight deadlines

  • Collaborate with the salespeople, product managers and other internal Section One stakeholders to implement enterprise business process scenarios and storyboards and translate stories to compelling visuals

Required Skills

  • 1-2 years supervisory/management experience

  • Strong knowledge of Photoshop, Sketch and heavy use of prototyping tools like Axure

  • Strong HTML5, CSS, UI5, Angular, React, Javascript, modern web development skills

  • Practical experience with REST API’s a plus

  • Good visual design skills are desirable and will play a major role in the final selection process; Should be able to conceptualize and design visual design assets and themes that are appealing and contemporary (including design of high fidelity / finished looking UIs)

  • Clearly demonstrate customer-centric design thinking and approach

  • Self-motivated, a good communicator, collaborative working style, and able to balance quality deliverables with tight deadlines

  • Communicate your ideas, sketches, flows, wireframes, prototypes, and overall design decisions to a variety of key non-design stakeholders

  • Ability to translate story to visuals and quickly craft differentiated custom solutions on a variety of projects

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively

  • Experience designing products for web and mobile devices

  • A professional portfolio demonstrating both visual and interaction design experience

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.

Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically one year of software engineering or related experience.
