Who We Are
The Global Business Unit Cloud Native Engineering (GBU CNE) team is creating a micro-service platform (MSP) and associated services to facilitate the deployment of Cloud Native Software As A Service (SAAS) applications into the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). To support multiple Oracle products, a complex set of micro-services is being developed to allow multitenant deployments operating in a shared OCI environment. The GBU CNE team also develops and manages an internal virtualized development and test environment used by CNE developers and GBU partners.
The GBU CNE project culture emphasizes:
Rapid development and deployment using a CI/CD environment (Jenkins & Gitlab)

Leveraging Oracle Linux, python, docker, kubernetes and other best of breed technologies
Strong collaboration with GBU partners and remote CNE development teams

As a manager of a GBU CNE team, you will take an active role in the definition, evolution and execution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for providing technical direction and leadership of an engineering team. Your team will have a wide range of responsibilities including designing, developing, debugging, deploying, operating and supporting OCI hosted software applications and internal development tools and products.
You will be managing a new engineering team that has not been fully staffed. You will be responsible for the hiring and onboarding additional team members
Your team will apply Agile and DevOps methodologies and you will be expected to foster a working culture that emphasizes continuous improvement, collaboration and transparency.
A BS, MS degree or equivalent relevant experience required. A minimum of ten years of software engineering or related experience required which must include a minimum of four years technical management experience.
Software development, testing or support experience
Experience working with distributed multicultural organizations

Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.
Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
