Position Title Senior Geotechnical Engineer

AECOM’s Environment Business Line is currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Burnaby, British Columbia. The appropriately qualified candidate will join a multidisciplinary, collaborative multinational team focused on delivery of superior services to our clients. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide technical expertise in support of on-going AECOM geotechnical projects
Work with other senior level staff to provide services for current and prospective clients, and actively participate in local and regional collaborative opportunities
Actively participate in business development activities by identifying opportunities, supporting proposal efforts, and developing winning strategies
Maintain positive working relationships with client contacts, suppliers, contractors, engineering consultants and external agencies
Conduct technical review and undertake analysis and design for geotechnical components related to highway and railway projects, utilities, building structures, energy and mining projects, and other civil infrastructure projects
Preparation of health and safety and quality management plans
Carrying out analysis of geotechnical problems to generate design solutions.
Overseeing and reviewing technical work done by others, including technical reports
Provide technical mentorship to various members of the geotechnical team
Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field
10+ years of geotechnical experience
Registered as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia or eligibility to register
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Excellent technical, project management, and communication skills (both oral and written).
Ability to manage time effectively
Master’s or higher degree in Geotechnical Engineering
15+ years of geotechnical experience in Western Canada
Proven track record in developing and sustaining client relationships in the British Columbia market
Experience of finite element analysis using Plaxis software and other Geotechnical software including LPILE and SlopeW
Experience in seismic design and dams/dykes is an asset
Fluency in written and spoken French is an asset
