Marsh & McLennan Wealth Actuarial Analyst in Calgary, Alberta

The Wealth Actuarial Analyst will prepare client deliverables and assist consultants with project management and day to day client contact. To succeed in this role, the Wealth Actuarial Analyst will: Perform calculations and analysis with respect to defined benefit (“DB”) pension plans, including funding and accounting valuations, actuarial assumption studies, plan design studies, and plan terminations. Communicate with clients through participation in client calls, meetings, and presentations. Assist consultants with day to day client contact and problem resolution. Work within Wealth Actuarial Team to prepare and/or check actuarial valuation results, including census data, liabilities, assets, client presentations, and valuation reports. Provide analytical and consulting support on special projects involving DB and defined contribution (“DC”) pension plans, such as financial projections, financial risk management, executive pension arrangements, mergers and acquisitions, and asset/liability modelling studies. Create project work plans and monitor timelines and budgets. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance or related field Superior proficiency in Microsoft Excel Willingness to learn Mercer’s proprietary systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented thinker with a proven ability to analyze information and draw relevant conclusions Self-motivated mindset with a demonstrated commitment to action in the face of multiple priorities, challenging timelines, and ambiguities Progress towards associate-level actuarial designation (ASA/ACIA) At Mercer, we make a difference in the lives of more than 110 million people every day by advancing their health, wealth, and careers.
