The Analyst, Treasury will be a key contributor to the Canadian Pacific treasury team, as the point person on day-to-day cash positioning, payments, and short-term forecasting. The role will also be involved in supporting the treasury team in a wide range of responsibilities, including bank account management, supporting banking system projects and supporting the company’s financing activities.

This entry-level treasury role is well suited for someone that is analytical and hardworking, and will provide an opportunity to gain a broad range of experience and knowledge within the finance function.


  • Day to day cash management functions including cash forecasting, balance reporting and payment processing;

  • Support bank account management, including the preparation of bank account documentation;

  • Support technical aspects of 3rd party banking system interaction and problem resolution;

  • Support compliance activities related to external debt;

  • Bank fee and interest expense analysis and forecasting;

  • Issue and manage Letters of Credit;

  • Leverage technology to drive process improvements;

  • Build, develop and maintain forecast and analytical models;

  • Provide data analysis support;

  • Liaise with accounting on treasury issues;

  • Production of daily and monthly dashboards and financial reporting;

  • Support other finance teams as required.


  • Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics or another relevant field;

  • Desire to complete or currently enrolled in MBA, CFA or CPA;

  • 0-3 years of relevant work experience;

  • Highly proficient in excel with an emphasis on model development;

  • Previous experience working in cash management, financial risk management, accounting or corporate finance would be an asset;

  • Self-motivated, self-starter who can work independently and take initiative to drive change with limited oversight;

  • Ability to independently work in a fast paced environment;

  • Apply critical thinking to find unique solutions to complex issues;

  • Ability to represent Treasury in cross functional projects and discussions;
