PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Analyst, Treasury will be a key contributor to the Canadian Pacific treasury team, as the point person on day-to-day cash positioning, payments, and short-term forecasting. The role will also be involved in supporting the treasury team in a wide range of responsibilities, including bank account management, supporting banking system projects and supporting the company’s financing activities.
This entry-level treasury role is well suited for someone that is analytical and hardworking, and will provide an opportunity to gain a broad range of experience and knowledge within the finance function.
Day to day cash management functions including cash forecasting, balance reporting and payment processing;
Support bank account management, including the preparation of bank account documentation;
Support technical aspects of 3rd party banking system interaction and problem resolution;
Support compliance activities related to external debt;
Bank fee and interest expense analysis and forecasting;
Issue and manage Letters of Credit;
Leverage technology to drive process improvements;
Build, develop and maintain forecast and analytical models;
Provide data analysis support;
Liaise with accounting on treasury issues;
Production of daily and monthly dashboards and financial reporting;
Support other finance teams as required.
Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics or another relevant field;
Desire to complete or currently enrolled in MBA, CFA or CPA;
0-3 years of relevant work experience;
Highly proficient in excel with an emphasis on model development;
Previous experience working in cash management, financial risk management, accounting or corporate finance would be an asset;
Self-motivated, self-starter who can work independently and take initiative to drive change with limited oversight;
Ability to independently work in a fast paced environment;
Apply critical thinking to find unique solutions to complex issues;
Ability to represent Treasury in cross functional projects and discussions;
