PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Analyst or Specialist, Treasury will be a key contributor to the Canadian Pacific treasury team, providing analytical support for capital allocation, corporate finance and rating agency decisions, while playing a key role in cash flow forecasting and day-to-day cash management activities. The role will also be involved in bank relationship reviews, determining appropriate bank services, monitoring fees and interest, and the execution of FX, commercial paper and money market investment trades.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Execute day to day cash management functions including cash forecasting, positioning and payments;
Leverage technology and existing cash management experience to drive process improvements;
Responsible for maintenance and monitoring of all third party debt and credit facilities;
Maintain rating agency metric model;
Forecast liquidity, coordinate with planning teams, and support capital allocation decision making;
Annual bank relationship review presentations and ongoing bank fee and interest monitoring / forecasting;
Execute FX, commercial paper and money market investment trades
Build, develop and maintain forecast and analytical models;
Production of weekly and monthly management reporting;
Support other treasury indicatives and finance teams as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or other relevant fields;
Desire to complete or currently enrolled in MBA, CFA or CPA;
3+ years of relevant work experience;
Highly proficient in excel with an emphasis on model development and statistical analytics;
Project management and problem solving skills
Previous experience working in cash management, financial risk management, or corporate finance;
Knowledge of basic derivative instruments (interest rate and cross-currency swaps, FX forwards);
Self-motivated, self-starter who can work independently and take initiative to drive change with limited oversight;
Ability to independently work in a fast paced environment;
Apply critical thinking to find unique solutions to complex issues;
Ability to represent Treasury in cross functional projects and discussions.
