PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Specialist Business Systems is accountable for analyzing, developing, testing, implementing and documenting business/system solutions that will contribute to the organization's ability to achieve its goals.
Diagnose, isolate and debug software problems and perform problem resolutions;
Review, analyze and modify programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for a large-scale system;
Support implementation of application programs; fix bugs when they occur;
Ability to adopt to changing technology – (i.e. support legacy technology while transitioning into modern technology
Responsible for delivery of business or system solutions within an SDLC methodology;
Ensure adherence to best practices for enhancements and support; ensure adoption and adherence to defined support processes (e.g. incident management, request management, etc.) in compliance with determined SLAs;
Responsible for monitoring application software health, ensuring optimal operation and performance throughout the organization’s software asset life cycle
Maintain records for the documentation of systems development and revisions;
Should have the appetite to be techno functional
Apply a variety of techniques to elicit and gather business and user requirements from stakeholders. Understand business issues and opportunities. Analyze and define both the “As Is” and “To Be” business processes and perform a gap analysis. Identify, assess and manage solution gaps. Contributes to estimates for the business analysis effort based on scope and complexity.
Should identify and communicate issues or risks affecting the scope or plan whenever they arise.
Develop and Translate Business Process Models to Business Systems Requirements
For any enhancement work that has clear articulated values from the business (ASR), ensure SOW is generated. All relevant information in SOW needs to be clearly documented
Engage the right stakeholders to gather the estimates and create a schedule based on the estimates
University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Science or equivalent practical experience;
Proven expertise in Analysis and Problem Solving;
Experience with providing on-call support to customers; this role requires participation in a 24 X 7 on-call support rotation;
Experience with supporting complex, integrated systems;
Experience with diagnosing, isolating and debugging software problems;
10+ years of practical experience using a wide variety of programming languages C#, VB.Net.
10+ years of experience in RDBMS such as SQL Server and Oracle
Ability to learn new systems quickly and independently;
Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle;
Knowledge of programing best practices such as Automated builds/integration, Unit/Integration Testing, S.O.L.I.D principles
Nice to Have:
Development experience with WPF, Java Spring Boot, UI5
Hands on experience with Eclipse IDE, DoJo, ABAP development
Good interpersonal skills;
Team player, skilled at working in a highly collaborative manner;
Proven strong communication skills - both written and oral - with technical and non-technical staff and with management;
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where continual change is routine.
