What We’re Looking For
ODC is looking for a jack of all trades and hands on Security Engineer that has experience implementing a wide range of security controls in a Cloud/DevSecOps environment. We want someone who is security minded and likes to build and improve things. This individual will report to the Director of Security Engineering.
How You’ll Make An Impact
Be passionate about technology, like learning new things and are comfortable making decisions in situations of uncertainty.
Use your deep technical experience to guide discussions, designs and planning in a collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders.
Have experience gathering or generating technical requirements and creating designs based on those requirements.
Use your experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, Containers and Microservices to insert security into our build and deployment processes.
Demonstrate initiative by suggesting modifications to existing tools or technologies or developing new tools that improve security for the business.
Have experience implementing security in AWS, OCI or other cloud service providers.
Be experienced working in an Agile/SAFe development environment.
Are comfortable juggling multiple projects, breaking down medium sized projects into deliverables and be able to self-prioritize and operate independently without close supervision.
Have demonstrably expert skills with Linux and the Linux command line as well as solid understanding of configuration and administration of multiple distributions. Having experience with both RedHat derived systems and Debian derivatives is a significant plus.
Have a solid understanding of networking, CIDR concepts and firewall technology.
Be familiar with technologies pervasive in our environment including Terraform, Git, Docker, Vault and Kubernetes.
Have experience programmatically interfacing with software APIs especially REST interfaces.
Be familiar with one or more orchestration platforms such as Puppet, Chef, SaltStack or Ansible.
Have two or more years of experience developing scripts with a high-level language such as Python, Rust, Go, etc. Experience developing software systems beyond complex scripts presents a major advantage over other applicants.
Have experience in automating infrastructure deployment or security posture assessment/remediation using a high-level language.
Have experience with Relational Databases, understand fundamental concepts of data normalization and be familiar with Structured Query Language (SQL). Knowledge of data architecture and schema design is a major advantage.
Have experience with NoSQL storage platforms and time series databases such as Splunk, ElasticSearch, InfluxDB, MongoDB, etc. Knowledge of administration and management of these system is a major advantage.
Keep up to date with existing and emerging security technologies that can be adopted at ODC.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
