Network Engineer to join our Cambridge office in UK!

ODC (Oracle Data Cloud) Context team is a Technology

leader in search and contextual analysis in Digital Advertising. We provide

editorial and advertising solutions to major on-line publishers and advertising

agencies. Where a busy platform may

handle a million requests a day, our servers handle that many requests in a

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the Infrastructure team, you

will be focusing on Cloud and Physical networking. You will play a key role as

one of the primary owners of our cloud infrastructure, providing high-speed,

low-latency, network connectivity for Oracle Data Cloud (ODC) products across a

global platform. You will be at the forefront of supporting and designing our

next-generation hybrid infrastructure and applications. Using industry best

practices and innovative approaches, you and your team will aim to provide high-performance,

scalable, secure, and resilient systems in support of our product development

teams and to our entire enterprise.

As a member of the Oracle Data Cloud, you

would be at the forefront of innovating and deploying the technologies that

make the ODC work. Multi-cloud experience is essential, as is a curious and

innovative mindset as we scale our global business into new regions and

  • Provide core administration anddelivery tasks around all aspects of the ODC public /private cloudinfrastructure, with a focus on networking

  • Work with Infrastructure Coreteam members as well as other development teams to drive continual improvementof our on-premise and cloud capabilities

  • Working for the DeploymentDirector to manage and scale the business’s network infrastructure

  • Monitoring and tuning ofnetwork infrastructure to deliver performance and high reliability

  • Specification, selection,installation and configuration of new equipment / requirements

  • Responding to issues andincidents and taking through to a resolution

  • Acting as a technical SME(Subject Matter Expert) for Networks

  • Collaborate with colleaguesacross the ODC to help facilitate innovative problem-solving and processes

  • Driving continuous improvementinitiative to improve existing IT Infrastructure and the ways of working

  • Supporting and leading lessexperienced members of the team

  • Improving existing processesand knowledge base

  • Maintain and enhancecurrent/future enterprise cloud networks and other infrastructure

  • Coordinate with security andnetwork teams to provide a secure delivery platform

  • Evaluate emerging technologiesfor feasibility and integration analysis

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

] Network systems analyst will bean integral member of ODC (Oracle Data Cloud) and the ideal candidate willhave:

Essentialskills / experience

  • Min 3 years Networkadministration experience

  • Network systems - Loadbalancing, switching, routing, firewalls, security advantageous

  • Experience with BGP and OSPFrouting protocols

  • Experience designing, buildingand operating Network in Cloud environments

  • Administration / troubleshootingmulti-cloud networks, datacenters, and network tools (especially using andmaintaining Cisco and Juniper JunOS)

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)networking – VPC design, Security Group/nACL configuration

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) -knowledge of EC2, VPC Architecture (Security Groups/ACLs, Subnets, RoutingTables, etc), Storage concepts (EBS/S3/Glacier), Multi-region/Multi-AZ zerodowntime architecture, and ‘cloud optimized’ infrastructure

Preferredskills / experience

  • Experience supportinginfrastructure in a DevOps environment

  • Scripting and automation tools- Python, Ruby, Puppet, Terraform, Chef, Ansible or other configurationmanagement

  • CNI implementations forKubernetes, e.g Calico/Weave

  • Certification(s) in Networkingor Cloud Technologies preferred

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Define, design, and implement network communications and solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database/applications company.

Responsible for creating and implementing system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliablility of the system. Manage the load configurations of a central data communication processor and make recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks. Coordinate terminal orders and cable installation, network system planning, upgrading, monitoring, testing, and servicing. Approves action requests and specifies purchase requisitions. Negotiates and places orders with common carriers. May play a team leader role for developing System Administrators.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Eight years of related experience in a medium to large network distributed and computing environment. BS in Computer Science or related field.
