VVS' Global Engineering team is growing and is seeking an experienced engineering or operations leader to drive data-centric solutions to feed into VVS' operations and investment planning.

This role is based in Massachusetts, either in our Cambridge, Lexington or Plainville site, but time may be spent at other local VVS facilities and up to 10% travel to the Alachua, FL facility or other locations.

How will you make an impact?

The Senior Manager Engineering Capacity Planning and Analytics (SCP&A) will be a member of the VVS Global Engineering team, reporting to the head of the Engineering Business Management group. The Sr. Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing analytics tools, best practices, efficiency-driving solutions and processes to guide manufacturing and engineering objectives, measure operations performance, and drive business and investment planning at our manufacturing sites. This role requires demonstrated experience in operations and process modeling, data analytics, and manufacturing process knowledge.

The Sr. Manager will interface with operations, commercial development and engineering leaders to understand and analyze current capabilities and needs in order to inform the long-range planning process for VVS' portfolio of manufacturing capacity, process platforms and technologies.

What will you do?

  • Develop and implement analytics and modeling tools for resourcing, capacity, throughput, and utilization to support manufacturing operations and long-term strategic planning.

  • Partner with other global functions and site teams to develop and implement capacity planning process improvements.

  • Develop and implement improvement proposals to increase manufacturing efficiency and throughput

  • Drive operational impact analyses and capacity modeling for new manufacturing technologies, capital projects, and operational efficiency projects planned at the sites.

  • Act as a process leader by providing process diagnostics, improvement proposals, analytical insight and perspective.

  • Improve capacity planning processes, leveraging new concepts and technologies, to continuously drive sustainable improvements.

  • Define success metrics, frequency and cadence by which to measure and deliver priority goals and capacity planning improvements.

  • Contribute to the annual renewal of the long-range capacity plan and develop/share strategic insights and shape recommendations with key partners.

  • Proactively identify business opportunities related not only to capacity issues in our network, but also to areas such as new product introductions, new technology opportunities, business continuity planning, inventory/cycle time management, etc.


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, operations or business, with evidence of operational, leadership, or professional experience.


  • 10+ years of experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations Analytics.

  • Experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, or process engineering a big plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships throughout all levels of an organization.

  • Proven expertise in capacity planning, process modeling, advanced concepts, tools and software systems.

  • Solid understanding of operational financial planning.

  • Strong commercial orientation with a proven ability to partner with managers and operating teams.
