IBM Validation Specialist Engineer Intern in CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts
We have an exciting opportunity for a Validation Specialist Engineer Intern within the Compliance department of Watson Health. As a Validation Specialist Engineer Intern you will support the Tools validation team with developing and delivering validated tools, compliant platforms and solutions. You will work closely with the Team Leads and assist globally resourced team(s) on small, medium and large complex V&V projects. The Validation Specialist Engineer Intern will assist with the Tools V&V team internal co-ordination, information development, training and communications ensuring the supporting functions within the team operate efficiently.
Essential functions of this internship will consist of the following:
•Work collaboratively with Offering Teams & project stakeholders to develop a comprehensive project plan based on approved funding. Project plans will include: Scope, Schedule, Cost, Quality, Organization and Communications.
•Perform Project Planning. Create / build / update project schedules, project charters, project plans, status reports, and work breakdown structures.
•Create / Manage Project and Team Metrics to be reported out locally and to Senior Management
•Co-ordination & management of tool listings required to support Offering V&V
•Manage tools inventory using WH electronic inventory management system
•Internal Data Management- supporting project information to be effectively managed for ease of access
•Familiarity with Medical Device Regulations and audits – GXP, CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, IEC 62304 – International Standards (Europe and US) and IEEE, SEI, Six Sigma and other ISO standards and regulations.
•Experience in Software Tools (Development and Test Tools)
•Integration test frameworks such as Cucumber, Selenium
•Application server middleware (e.g. WebSphere Application Server, Oracle WebLogic)
•Databases (relational and other; DB2, Mongo, etc.)

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Technical background encompassing engineering, instrumentation, programmable logic controllers and statistics is desirable
Strong communication, oral and written, skills and superior technical/scientific writing capabilities
Ability to interact with clients, vendors, and leadership skills with other consultants and contractors in a professional setting, while applying sound analytical thinking and judgment to resolve complex technical problems in a timely manner.
Advanced computer skills (Software development tools, Microsoft Word, Excel and Access – or equivalent
