Primary Role

  • Responsible for all business software product line planning and execution all through the lifecycle of the business

  • Create a vision for the business with respect to growth, target markets, solution roadmap and overall contribution to the business

  • Gather and prioritize requirements for software product, defining the vision for the product and collaborating with the technology team, marketing, sales, and operations to ensure that the financial and customer satisfaction goals are met

  • Responsible for spearheading investigation and analysis on the product and the product market


  • Drive creation of business cases for new service offerings and ensures senior management is presented information necessary to make informed decisions

  • Process information, identify opportunities, and present these to the business for initial validation and testing

  • Deliver insightful product recommendations to business leaders and the executive team in a persuasive and thoughtful manner

  • Ensure that that the company’s overall strategy and goals are supported by those of the software product

  • Ensure that the product needs of our customers and target segments are being met

  • Proactively recommend, drive and implement organizational/structural changes, delivery processes, and procedures in coordination with business leaders to deliver improved service and greater cost efficiency

  • Oversee the launch of all software products and develop processes/documentation to educate both internal and external clients/stakeholders on product features

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate development, QA, and operational deployment of products from feasibility to launch

  • Lead forecasting, planning and budgeting processes for line of business Create and maintain mechanism for receiving and tracking input on requirements from prospects, customers, internal teams, partners and industry analysts

  • Acts as an internal and external product expert for the product suites in the line of business

  • Responsible for business case development/cost benefit analysis/ROI analysis to help in product prioritization efforts

  • Manages all PM personnel related processes, including: selection, resource allocation, performance management, employee relations, employee development and team organization

  • Attends trade shows as needed and maintains awareness and fluency in competitor offerings leading to driving differentiated product offerings and enable sales and marketing differentiation in offerings

  • Understand and prioritize projects from various inputs (customer feedback, business need and technology capabilities) so the team is always working on the most impactful projects

  • Collaborate with Technology team on timelines and scope of product priorities

  • Define quantitative and qualitative success metrics and constantly evaluate if the solutions have solved the business problem or created business value through these metrics, both before and after product release


  • Excellent presentation skills with ability to make presentations to industry forums, standards organizations and act as a company spokesperson

  • Successful experience leading and managing product management teams and product lifecycle management processes

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Skilled non linear thinker who considers multiple starting points to solving problems and multiple direction to apply logic

  • Strong understanding of markets, market segmentation and how to derive features and go to market strategies from that segmentation

  • Deep grounding in customer experience with the ability to design customer centric whole product solutions

  • Sufficient technical background to provide highly-credible leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues

  • Working knowledge of digital technologies and applicability for the water and wastewater industries


  • Boston University edx Digital Product Management certification.

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science preferred, or an equivalent in working experience

  • Over 10 years of experience in product management, product strategy or project management in complex/matrix environments

  • Team management of multiple product managers and product owners in an agile organization

  • More than 3 years’ experience with software development using full stretch technologies (Data, API, microservices, Java)
