Primary Role

As a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions technology team, this role will actively lead two major streams of work. They will help with the day-to-day integration process of an acquisition along with developing and implementing new technologies and play an integral part in transforming and innovating the technical landscape of sourcing, integrating and maintaining acquired entities.

Key Accountabilities

Technology Roadmap Development

  • Drive the effort to develop plans that match short-term and long-term business goals with specific technology solutions to help meet those goals. The plan applies to a new product or process or to an emerging technology.

  • Working with the line of business leaders and industry experts, ensure the plans help 1) reach a consensus about a set of needs and the technologies required to satisfy those needs, 2) provide a mechanism to help forecast technology developments, and 3) provide a framework to help plan and coordinate technology developments.

  • Team Development:*

  • Assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring and developing team members.

  • Promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team.

  • Perform as a team of strategic, creative, and technical professionals who partner with our clients to solve business problems and meet meaningful business goals.

  • Technology Expertise*

  • Act as an expert in a particular field of knowledge [this may be a business/functional area and/or a particular technology] and provide detailed information and advice as necessary in that specialization in order to achieve business outcomes.

  • Develop and/or promote technical solutions which support the business requirements within their area of expertise. Be accountable for specific deliverables in relation to software or web development and/or support.

  • As needed, lead the technical activity within their area of specialization.

  • Product Owner Support*

  • Support the Head of Technology Enablement/Customer Enablement in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and helping to implement an effective system of project governance.

  • Engage closely with clients to understand what business objectives they want to accomplish through technology enablement and then work with the Customer Enablement team of developers and designers to bring those ideas to life.

Knowledge / Skills

  • Strong knowledge of digital technologies and some applicability for the water and wastewater industries

  • Expertise with a small set of interdisciplinary technology specialities [e.g. data, mobility, GIS, collaboration, infrastructure] and/or deep knowledge of a particular speciality area

  • Demonstrated ability to apply these technology specialities to solve practical problems in a high-tech development environment with multifunction

  • Excellent decision-making ability, balancing what is right with what is realistic

  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change

  • Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while simultaneously maintaining the "big picture" view" teams for small to medium, complex systems with some guidance.

  • Good experience in web development, Java, JSON and SOAP

  • Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server Databases, Data Analysis

  • Expertise in Data extraction and loading with ETL tool

  • Sound knowledge of acquisitions integration both on the Regulated and Non-Regulated side.

  • Good knowledge of all the different phases of an acquisition on both the Regulated and Non-Regulated side.

  • Software knowledge should include the following:

  • Windows Word, Excel, and Access.

  • JIRA to track projects.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Good verbal, written and presentation skills Should be a self-starter with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a keen desire to learn and expand depth of knowledge Good Collaboration , prioritization and team working skills Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment with virtual teams

  • 2+ years experience working in the technology field required.

  • 7 to 10 years working in Technology, using ETL Solution, Web Development, and SQL

  • Experience with the water utility industry is highly desired, but not required.

  • BS /MS in Computer Science , Computer Applications , Information Technology , Mathematics or related field of Engineering with strong academic background . MBA in Finance will be a plus

  • Appropriate technical certification in speciality area preferred.

  • Five or more years’ of experience using SQL database tools (i.e. Query Analyzer, SQL tuning advisor, SQL access advisor, SQL Loader).Knowledge of SSRS is a plus ETL, Data extraction, data conversion, and/or data integration. Experience in importing and exporting database files from multiple sources using SQL Loader or other tools.
