Job Description

American Water Works Service Company, Inc. (Camden, NJ) is seeking a Technologist – ETL; Lead and support multiple in-flight acquisitions across multiple business and technical functions specializing in data conversion technologies. The position requires a minimum of a 3 or 4 year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, and 5 years' progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or any related occupation, to include 5 years’ experience working with oracle databases, including performance monitoring and tuning; 5 years’ experience utilizing RMAN, OEM, Data Guard, AWR, SQL Loader, Datapump, SQL Developer, TOAD, Veritas Netbackup, APEX, shell scripting & PL/SQL; and 3 years’ experience developing and implementing test validations, analyzing test results, and documenting modifications and enhancements made both to the database systems and applications. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training. Experience may have been gained concurrently.

Primary Role

As a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Technology Team, this role will actively lead two major streams of work. The SR. M&A Technologist will help with the day-to-day integration process of an acquisition along with developing and implementing new technologies and play an integral part in transforming, and innovating the technical landscape of sourcing, integrating and maintaining acquired entities.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Must have lead an Acquisitions integration team through both on the Regulated and

  • Non-Regulated side.

  • Knowledge of all the different phases of an Acquisition on both the Regulated and

  • Non-Regulated side.

  • Software knowledge should include the following: Windows Word, Excel, and Access.

  • Knowledge on JIRA to track projects.

  • Five or more years’ experience using SQL database tools (i.e. Query Analyzer, SQL

  • tuning advisor, SQL access advisor, SQL Loader) is required; knowledge of SSRS a

  • plus, but not required.

  • ETL, Data extraction, data conversion, and/or data integration.

  • Experience in importing and exporting database files from multiple sources using SQL

  • Loader or other tools.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-starter with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a keen desire to learn and expand depth of knowledge

  • Innovative mindset and forward looking attitude.

  • Good Collaboration, prioritization and team working skills

  • Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment with virtual teams

  • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently and take initiative to find/develop solutions for business requirements.

Experience/Education

  • 5-8 years working in Technology, using ETL Solution, Web Development, and SQL

  • BBS /MS in Computer Science , Computer Applications , Information Technology , Mathematics or related field of Engineering with strong academic background Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Engineering; MBA is a plus
