Position: Business Development Manager, Beauty/Hair Care
The Business Development Manager is directly responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation and execution of the sales process for our Hair & Beauty care brands for defined accounts in Drug and Alternate Beauty Channels. Customer Responsibility will be heavily focused on Shoppers Drug Mart, along with new business development targeting Alternative Channels and Hair Salons via our Broker partnership.
Develop and implement annual business plans for the achievement of volume objectives, trade spending requirements and priorities which are consistent with C&D brand and corporate strategies
Lead and Develop our Hair Care Customer Strategies within our existing Customers and new Channels.
Develop and manage the B2B strategy alongside with the Marketing, and 3rd Party Broker.
Develop proposals and plans for new channel and brand opportunities
Work collaboratively with Customer, Sale Director, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and other internal stakeholders, to identify, develop and execute business building plans for the account
Must be comfortable with the demands of managing both existing business as well as developing the strategy on new business opportunities through the Hair Salon and Derm Cosmetic Skin care channel.
Coordinate and communicate all relevant account program with buyers and accounts that include merchandising, pricing, distribution, planograms assortments
Report on all competitive and required information on a timely basis (ie. Weekly, Qtrly Reviews)
Provide forecasting information to the demand planning team through ongoing Shipment, Inventory and POS analysis for meeting forecast accuracy objectives
Lead development and execution of joint business plans relative to assigned categories and accounts
Leverage insights to influence customer category strategy and decision making
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Must have a minimum 4 years of sales experience in the Beauty Industry. Experience working with large retailers and calling on head offices ideally Shoppers Drug Mart, as well as experience in B2B Hair Salons and Dermatology Clinic is an asset.
Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Syndicated POS Data
Strong strategic negotiation and influence selling skills
Solid communication and presentation skills (JBP experience is preferred)
Strong demonstrated abilities in the interpretation and extraction of Nielsen data
The ideal candidate will possess strengths in core competencies such as; strategic thinking, decision quality, dealing with ambiguity, priority setting, communication skills and be a team player.
