THE POSITION: Product Management Specialist – Over-the-Counter (OTC) Products Division

In this position, the successful candidate will be the product life cycle expert for the team, assisting OTC Marketing Managers in the achieving business goals and provide strong assistance in the tactical operation of the brand with specific focus on the product portfolio change management. This position reports to the Marketing Manager – RUB A535 and Vitamin Brands, and supports all brands within the OTC portfolio (Including Gravol, Anusol, Diovol, Ovol, and Carter’s Little Pills).

This position will also:

  • Assist Marketing Managers in project management through the product life cycle (inception, launch, maintenance and discontinuation), mitigating issues and concerns as they arise. This function will interact with key internal teams (New Product Development, Research & Development, regulatory, operations), international subsidiaries, export markets, and external 3rd parties (packaging suppliers, creative agencies). Specifically, the candidate will have high focus on:

  • Leading the cross functional development and implementation of Plain Labelling Law (Drug Facts) packaging across graphics design, procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, category management and trade teams.

  • Lead local artwork development and packaging adaptation for the total OTC portfolio, leveraging global style guides (e.g. renderings, sales samples, product, and displays). Identify and leverage competitive claims, trends and consumer feedback to provide actionable recommendations.

  • Complete forms required to flow items through materials data management process and own the asset management for their brands (product images, sales samples, product samples, consumer materials, etc)

  • Liaise with legal and R&D teams to work through regulatory, legal, copy and creative feedback and propose recommendations and solutions. Manage Canadian trademark process and work with 3rd parties to provide recommendation for Canadian approach (North American alignment vs Canadian specific)

  • Contribute to the discussion, analysis and recommendations for product launches, sku prioritizations and discontinuations (product development, R&D, regulatory affairs, operations, packaging development, supply chain etc)

  • Work closely with local partner agencies and outside service suppliers to develop and provide assets for consumer promotional programs (images, renderings, legally approved copy, etc): advertising and public relations agencies, package designers, media buying agency, promotion houses and experiential agencies

  • Contribute to and on occasion lead the development of consumer and trade communications, including FSIs, print advertising, website development, sampling, in-store programs and selling materials. Negotiate costs with 3rd parties and proactively offer cost savings to the corporation

  • Other administrative duties as required (legal routings, template development, purchasing and sample orders, tracking documents, couriers, meeting coordination, international requests, etc)

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • University Degree in a related field or the equivalent

  • Minimum of 1 year of marketing and/or project management related experience, ideally in a CPG environment

  • Capacity to plan, lead and execute complex projects with multiple stakeholders

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in the standard marketing mix

  • Understanding of how daily activities can impact financials metrics. Possesses pride in contributing to corporate objectives

  • Has a sense of urgency and the ability to motivate others in cross functional teams to deliver on objectives and deadlines

  • Keen attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, while delivering quality results

  • Flexibility and ability to suggest quickly and proactively corrective actions/solutions as well as to deal with ambiguity and change

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with limited supervision

  • Accepts accountability and understands the impact deliverables have

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Teams

  • Bilingual (E/F) not mandatory, but an asset
