Thermo Fisher Scientific Senior Director, HR LSG Group Functions in Carlsbad, California
Position Summary :
The primary responsibility of this position will be to act as the HR lead for the LSG Group functions: Finance, Legal, LCS, and Commercial Operations. You will utilize your expertise in change leadership and talent development to drive the support of our functional leaders. Through this collaborative and consultative approach, you will define and execute plans to address the strategic people needs of the organization and functions and serve as a key leadership team member, contributing to overall strategic people impact.
As the primary HR business partner for LSG Group Functions, you will:
Partner with leaders to drive and execute talent strategies that impact the full employee lifecycle
Successfully influence key stakeholders and drive results in a matrixed environment
Manage core talent processes such as performance reviews, succession planning, and total compensation.
Facilitate the employee involvement survey action planning with functional leadership, driving accountability across the manager population
Consult with leaders in areas such as organizational assessment, succession planning, organizational structure, and work force planning in order to strengthen overall organizational capability.
Progress the culture with a focus on quality and promoting a diverse and inclusive work environment where colleagues are actively engaged and promoting Thermo Fisher as a great place to work.
Collaborate with group-level functional leadership on organizational design and development initiatives; using tools, processes and past successes, ensure successful facilitation of organization changes.
Enhance people development within the areas supported; leverage existing tools and processes, ensuring leadership accountability, a focus on talent/roles with the greatest potential/needs, and raising the bar on what the organization delivers relative to performance feedback and employee development.
Partner with business leadership and HR colleagues to assess current talent and develop or implement long-term talent strategies that ultimately improve the performance of the organization and set it up for longer term success.
Partnering with TA on the sourcing and recruitment process for the functions, ensure key positions are filled timely while improving the diversity and level of talent coming into the organization; report on key metrics to measure progress. What you will need:
Senior level Human Resources experience from a large multi-national company with 15+ years of experience. Some experience partnering with a global organization is required.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited higher learning program required with a major in either Human Resources or a business-related field. (Masters preferred).
Proven success driving results in a fast-paced, matrixed organization
Effective consulting and analytical skills, with a proven ability to bring innovative points of view and to influence without direct authority; must be able to market ideas to a diverse leadership team
Demonstrated ability to build relationships as a global HR business partner and advisor
Experience with Workday preferred.
Strong business acumen with the ability to link talent priorities to key business initiatives and demonstrated ability to translate into effective strategies and actions to execute against those strategies
Experience leading, engaging and developing high performing teams in a highly matrixed environment.
Experience facilitating senior leadership team meetings and effectiveness, and in designing, developing and deploying leadership, management and professional development solutions.
Demonstrated success as a change agent for organizational transformation and continuous improvement efforts.
Strong ability to collaborate, build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
Exemplary ethics and ability to drive and maintain a high-morale environment.
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills evidencing the ability to think and act strategically.
Strong organization skills, highly detail-orientated, with proven project management capabilities, including the ability to manage multiple key projects simultaneously.

Excellent verbal and written English language skills.
Ability to travel up to 25%
