Thermo Fisher Scientific Senior Finance Manager in Carlsbad, California

This experienced Senior Finance Manager will be a key member of a division FP&A team, owning consolidation of divisional performance. The role will supervise 1-2 direct reports and will report directly into a divisional Director of Finance. This position will be located in Carlsbad, CA.
Principal finance partner for division-level management reporting
Lead efficient and effective financial close, forecast, budget, and strategic plan processes
Build productive relationships with finance teams across the matrix (Business Unit, Group, Operations, Corporate) to drive alignment, accountability, and optimize processes
Develop financial scenarios and target models to facilitate decision making
Demonstrate FP&A leadership with timely, accurate, and value-added information
Coach, mentor, and develop the team to drive continuous improvement, reporting, and analytics
BA/BS degree in finance/accounting or other business-related disciplines (MBA a plus)
8+ years of finance/accounting related experience
Biosciences industry experience preferred
Strong understanding of financial statements and financial system structures
Demonstrated track record of developing high performing teams
Robust analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Exceptional oral and written communication skills including an ability to present information to multiple management layers, up to and including Group Executives.
Expertise in Microsoft Office tools, particularly complex business modeling in Excel
Systems experience: COGNOS, Hyperion Essbase, SAP, E1. Experience with Power BI is a plus
Enthusiasm to work as a team player and a team leader
Applies strong technical and analytical skills to influence strategic business decisions
Demonstrates strong business acumen
Excellent written and oral communication
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize to meet deadlines
Ability to navigate and influence in a matrix organization
Confidence to interact with all levels of the organization
