Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced

Construction Manager in Carlsbad, NM.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, implementing, and supporting construction projects as directed consistent with safety, cost, schedule, and contractual requirements for the Safety Significant Ventilation System Project (SSVSP). Development and maintenance of working relationships with Engineering, Quality, Planning/Analysis, Procurement, Radiation Control, Operations, Safety, and the DOE Representatives on an ongoing basis. Knowledge of Financial reporting controls and systems as they pertain to Construction Management. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills (e.g. conflict resolution, team building). Understand the roles, responsibilities, authority, and accountabilities of project team members. The position requires the candidate to have the ability to provide coordination, systems and processes to perform construction management functions. Reports to the Safety Significant Ventilation System Project Manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Construction related field with ten (10) years of experience, or

  • Associates degree with fourteen (14) years of experience, or

  • High School Diploma or GED with eighteen (18) years of relevant is required.

  • Five (5) years of experience in managing construction projects in excess of $10 million.

  • Knowledge of project management financial controls and systems.

  • Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be US Citizens.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DOE Safety Basis Orders. (10CFR 851)

  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), DOE O 413.3B Critical Decision (CD) and DOE Capital Asset Projects.

  • Experience managing construction projects at commercial manufacturing facilities and/or DOE/NNSA or commercial nuclear sites.

  • Project Management Professional Certification.

  • Prior WIPP experience is preferred.
