Nuclear Waste Partnership, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking a
Design Authority Manager to be based in our Carlsbad, New Mexico location.
The successful candidate will be Safety Significant Confinement Ventilation (SSCVS) and Exhaust Shaft (ES) Project Design Authority Manager and will be the delegated Design Authority responsibility for the SSCVS and ES projects. Will be a key member of the project team responsible to ensure that the Design Authority engineering function is carried out consistent with NWP design, safety, schedule and contractual requirements. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and maintaining close working relationships with Projects, Quality Assurance, Planning/Analysis, Procurement, Radiation Control, Operations, Safety, and subcontractor personnel. Strong interpersonal skills (e.g. conflict resolution, team building) will be applied in executing project management tasks, and in defining and understanding roles, responsibilities, authority, and accountabilities of project team members.
Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
Ten (10) years of line management experience in managing Projects, Design or Facility Engineering.
Five (5) years of line item management experience in managing Projects, Design, or Facility Engineering.
Five (5) years of Nuclear related experience.
Experience leading cross-functional teams required.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead multi-disciplined organizations, teams and employees to successful completion of projects and tasks.
Demonstrated ability to provide coordination, systems and processes to perform project design functions.
Must be able to implement WP-09-CN3044 (Developing Technical and Functional Requirements).
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizens.
Experience directing resources within a project organization is desired.
Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating/documenting experience managing capital projects in excess of 10 million dollars, and/or smaller projects at DOE or commercial nuclear sites.
Mining experience is preferred
Professional Engineer Registration preferred.
Previous experience as an Engineering Manager at a DOE facility desired.
Documented Safety Analysis experience is preferred.
Previous WIPP experience preferred.
