Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced

Project Control Specialist in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

The successful candidate will interpret costs and schedules to prepare budgets. Develop programs for cost and schedule tracking and analysis. Develop master project plan for cost and schedules using Primavera P6 and Deltek Cobra software. Provide support of oral and written presentations to internal and external customers regarding project implementation plans, status, changes and new approaches, including complex technical, organizational, and financial issues. Demonstrate a working knowledge in area(s) of project controls and earned value management to support the establishment of optimum conditions and effective utilization of resources and facilities, including equipment and staffing. Control efforts to ensure project progress is within schedule, cost, and technical baseline. Support the timely submittal of all required progress and status reports. Provide support to the subject matter expert/advisor to project managers/teams, peers, less experienced project controls, staff, senior management, and external customers. Support the development and implementation of primary and alternative actions. Support the negotiations and conflict management among project control team members, which affect projects and other internal/external stakeholders. Follow all safety procedures, regulations, and policies. Conduct frequent inspections of your work area to ensure that safe working conditions are maintained. Resolve related problems and assure compliance with prescribed system criteria. Analyze cost plans and schedules for variance impacts, horizontal and vertical coordination of schedules, critical paths, and related information and data to determine and identify potential problems. Support cost account managers’ need for accurate date and program analysis using a network of systems to facilitate budgetary data collection, monitoring, review, development, analysis, charting, and communication. Be prepared to act as the backup for the Control Account Manager. Assist in the development, maintenance, and revision of work authorization directives and statements of work. Develop report formats to meet requirements of both internal and external customers. Coordinate changes to project baseline cost and schedule documents from P6 and Cobra.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with ten (10) years of related Project Controls experience is required.

  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management.

  • Cobra and Primavera software knowledge.

  • Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizens.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Information Technology, Database Administration, and Six Sigma is preferred.

  • Previous WIPP experience is preferred.
