What you’ll be doing...

You will act as the customers' Engineering Design Authority (EDA) for all Verizon Managed NetworkServices and devices. The EDA is the trusted advisor to our managed services customers, and isresponsible for positive business outcomes by ensuring the effective operation of the client networkthrough lifecycle and architectural development. You will perform strategic planning and design,optimization, and steady state change management on a variety of network technologies that mayinclude routed/switched networks, wireless, voice, video, collaboration or other network technologiesfor large enterprise customers.

While applying industry best-practices, you'll ensure that the customer solution is delivered andoperated with a keen sense of urgency and flexibility. To this end, you'll take an end-to-end perspectiveand lead all technical towers (Data/Voice/Collaboration/Security) involved in the delivery and operationof a customer solution.

You’ll also serve as the primary engineering interface to the customer andsupport the design and implementation of the customer's enterprise network projectsWorking with customer technical teams to provide solutions for customers' internetworkingcommunications requirements.

Investigating, designing, planning, and implementing physical and logical communicationsnetworks.Managing network projects through all stages, including:Defining/gathering requirementsDrafting/presenting technical proposalsWeighing risks and rewards against value and costsDeploying and maintaining solutionsDeveloping all related documentation, test cases and execution plans.Preparing work orders and Records of Change containing instructions to be used by techniciansto configure network hardware and software.Understanding and effectively communicating the impact of technical decisions on the business.Preparing technical reports, client presentations, design documentation, and manuals.Monitoring, analyzing, troubleshooting, and evaluating network related problems.Managing the performance and optimization of networks and systems.Overseeing complex Change Management activity and holding approval authority over networkdesign changes.Leading all engineering towers supporting the client to include WAN/LAN/WLAN,IPT/Collaboration and Security.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Experience configuring and troubleshooting WAN/LAN/WLAN devices and network technologies(MPLS/VPN/Internet/DMVPN) from manufacturers such as Cisco, Juniper, F5, and Arubawireless.

Experience with Cisco Collaboration products: IPT/Video/Webex/Jabber.

Experience as a team lead.

Experience hosting and facilitating meetings attended by client peers and managers.

Willingness to work from the client site up to 90% of the time.

Even better if you have:

Security expertise in firewalls, IPS/IDS (CISSP).

Current Cisco CCNP certification, CCIE is highly preferred.

Experience with a variety of routing and switching products.

Experience as a team lead directing work with peers in your or other organizations.

Strong interpersonal communication skills to accurately represent and convey information both inverbal and written form.

Strong analytical and logical problem solving skills with the ability to drive solutions to IT

operational issues.

Ability to multi-task and be aware of several simultaneous work streams.

Ability to strategically influence and lead change within the client’s IT organization.

Skills and Qualifications Expected:

Strong communicator internally and externally directed at clients and third parties

Understanding of IT architecture design and development (TOGAF, ITIL, CCAr, DCUCD, MCSE Platform & Infrastructure, CITA-x, CISSP, CQS, or equivalent)

Experience with and strong understanding of complex network and data center/cloud infrastructures (CCNA, CCDP, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent)

Proven experience with complex TDM/IP voice architecture, SIP, SBCs (Sonus/Oracle) and contact centre applications (Cisco, Avaya, Genesis, Nice), and load Balancers (F5, et al.) (CCNx Collaboration, Linux/Unix OS, SSCA SIP, Sonus and Oracle Implementation Specialist, Avaya CIS/CSS, MCSE Communication/Productivity, Active Directory, DNS/LDAP, or equivalent)

Understanding of IP-related protocols with emphasis on MPLS/BGP VPNs, BGP, OSPF, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, SMTP, SNMP, DNS and FTP

Application development and related skills; affinity/interest in MySQL, VB script and shell scripting, Artificial Intelligence, RPA, AGILE/SCRUM methodology, mobile development, or equivalent experience

Affinity/interest in cloud-based applications, virtualization (MCSE P&I, AWS CSA/CDE, VMware CMA, or equivalent)

Affinity/interest for security issues concerning network infrastructure (CompTIA Security+, CISSP, SSCP, CRISC, or equivalent)
