Aetna Senior Product Consultant (Local Markets) in Cary, North Carolina

Understand the product development life cycle, product strategy, planning design and development, and go-to market execution. Develop and maintain medical product portfolios for Small Group and Middle Market segment through a consultative, forward thinking approach with the local markets.

Fundamental Components:

As a consultant to the market, develop state specific suite of medical plans.

  • Ensure products are filed in compliance with federal and state guidelines

  • Partner with internal and external partners to manage products

  • Interface with internal and external partners and resources to ensure successful completion of all projects

  • Understand the business, industry, and industry trends and use that knowledge to recommend effective solutions

  • Demonstrate expertise on federal and state specific EHB rules and regulations, including all state-specific rules pertaining to HCR and product in assigned states


    3-5 years related work experience.

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Aetna products/services/benefits/system capabilities

    Use product dashboard to continuously measure product performance; ensure we capitalize on greatest opportunity to maximum sales and earnings

  • Document product/plan performance and effectively communicate cause and effect (sales, pricing, profit)

  • Adjust product strategy and/or portfolio according to performance and market dynamics

  • Lead market discussions to drive consensus on portfolio needs and timing


    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
