Verizon Senior Proposal Manager in Cary, North Carolina
What you’ll be doing...
You will manage the long term strategic direction and day-to-day execution of the Third Party Vendor (TPV) Pre-Sales team supporting Verizon Enterprise Solutions (VES) and Verizon Business Markets (VBM). The TPV Pre-Sales team is responsible for the end-to-end design and development of complex solutions from a TPV perspective. This includes activities such as gathering customer requirements to design solutions to technology challenges, selling those solutions internally/externally, and closing out deals with internal partners and stakeholders.
Partnering cross-functionally with sales; solutions architect; operational, planning & design; global alliance, and sourcing teams to identify synergies to simplify the business and improve speed-to-revenue.
Driving the creation and adoption of processes, policies, and procedures which will balance the minimization of TPV costs against the maximization of TPV service quality.
Coaching and developing a team of TPV Pre-Sales deal managers.
Developing a successful partnership with Sourcing and Vendor Management teams to drive vendor consolidation, improvement of vendor unit cost economics, and the development of key preferred vendors by category.
Delivering against the team’s strategic mandates:
Ensuring TPVs are only used when absolutely necessary – push standard products to meet customer requirements whenever possible.
Ensuring new TPVs are on-boarded only when absolutely necessary – push Verizon Preferred TPVs unless specific deal requirements or exceptions dictate otherwise.
Ensuring all TPV costs are priced at best-in-class rates using multiple bidding techniques, benchmarking (internal and external), and other strategies.

You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
Experience working with complex technical solutions in wireline and wireless industries.
Experience managing a team of pre-sales or solutions consultants.
Designed and/or managed large, complex technical solutions/engagements with multiple stakeholders.
Translated customer requirements into vendor statements of work.
Negotiated multi-year, multi-million dollar contracts.
Built partner relationships and negotiated underlying agreements.
Juggled multiple priorities to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Demonstrated executive presence and influence skills.
