CRST International Manager- Organizational Effectiveness in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

JobDescription: Manager– Organizational Effectiveness
*Who You’ll Be Working With: *The Manager - Organizational Effectiveness role supports all 8 operating companies of CRST International, Inc, providing HR Business Partner support for approximately 1,700 office employees and managers, 400 Technicians, and over 8,000 drivers. Supports established initiatives to increase business efficiency, productivity, and profitability. Takes action to address employee related issues such as morale, turnover, and lack of engagement and creates actions to address. The position will be responsible for supporting organizational effectiveness metrics and providing regular cadences to the business. This position will be responsible for building effective relationships with business leaders. Responsible also for oversight of the disciplinary action process and response to Title VII formal charges and investigations. Success in this role results in improved engagement scores and employee retention
What You’ll Be Doing:
Org Effectiveness
*Support team leaders with organizational effectiveness initiatives and best practices
*Support team leaders with systemic issues and drive actions necessary to drive engagement within their teams
*Use data driven decision making to identify actions that positively impact the business from an engagement perspective
*Work with team leaders to implement actions that address employee concerns such as morale, attrition, and lack of engagement
*Use models, tools, and processes to improve organizational effectiveness
*Make recommendations for process improvements and enhancements

Coaching
*Provides coaching of management staff on a variety of topics related to organizational effectiveness, disciplinary action and performance management
*Coach team leaders on the proper application of discipline and performance management
*Provide training as needed to enhance leadership development related to administering discipline and coaching of their teams
*Partner with team leaders to diagnose root causes for employee related concerns and partner on appropriate interventions.

Investigations/Discipline
*Manage investigations involving allegations of discrimination or mistreatment based upon legally protected characteristics
*Coordinate activities related to Equal Employment and compliance with all fair employment practices, laws and regulations
*Provide direction and guidance to all levels of the organization regarding resolution of management and employee issues
* Responsible for the standardization of processes, tools, and forms related to all discipline, investigations, and Title VII activities
*Advises and consults on all involuntary terminations for the organization
*Works with staff of all levels concerning rebuttals of formal actions such as performance appraisals and disciplinary actions
*Responsible for overall success of function as measured by number of formal Title VII charges raised

The Experience You Need:
  • 2-3 years experience in organizational development
  • 5 or more years relevant work experience
  • Experience working within a large, complicated organization in multiple locations

  • ## Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree in Human Resources preferred)

  • Skilled professional with demonstrated ability to create process road maps, identifying waste and inefficiencies, with a mind for continuous improvement in all business processes that impact the employment experience for CRST employees
  • Great communicator who works best in a collaborative environment and builds mutual trust and credibility at all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and think strategically about talent-related challenges
  • Proven program/project management skills with high tolerance for working in changing and ambiguous situations
  • Excellent organization, time management and resiliency skills
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct effective meetings, and seek clarity of critical information
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Working knowledge of computer data bases, MS office applications
