CRST International Manager - Principal Accounts in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

*Job Summary: *Manager – Principal Accounts (PAM) is responsible for enhancing the customer experience by establishing and fostering solid business partnerships with each of their customers. A PAM is responsible for soliciting and procuring freight opportunities while providing quality transportation solutions that will meet or exceed the customer’s expectations. A PAM is also responsible for leading and developing a support staff dedicated to meeting the operational needs of assigned customers.

*Essential Duties & Responsibilities: *

  • Be the primary point of contact and build long-term relationships with customers

  • Accountable for commitment management with the customer

  • Understand a customer’s shipping needs, order tracking and on time delivery confirmation

  • Analyze data and trends to determine opportunities to increase both revenue and profitability onassigned accounts

  • Formulate and implement strategies to reduce or eliminate failure trends to help improve service

  • Maintain a working knowledge of freight markets and tailor the customer approach appropriately

  • Accountable for weekly performance and growth reporting to Sr. Leadership

  • Provide leadership, develop and manage direct support staff

  • Be available to take calls or assist during off-hours if customer is needing assistance

  • Facilitate web based or on-site monthly / quarterly reviews with each assigned customer

  • Work closely with all internal departments to resolve customer/carrier issues

  • Responsible for working with the external Sales team to onboard and integrate new customers and developing existing customer relationships

  • Be involved in the pricing process – quoting/negotiating rates, as well as the bid process for customers

  • Accountable for identifying growth opportunities with their customers across the entire CRST Enterprise

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills to all levels of employees

  • Experience in delivering customer-focused solutions based on customer needs

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail

  • Excellent time and project management skills

  • Drives for results with an appropriate level of urgency

  • Maximizes relationships, fosters collaboration and builds trust

  • Develops self through continuous learning

  • Can think big picture and understand how their accounts affect CRST as a whole

  • High school diploma or GED required, degree in a related field preferred
