Olympus America Inc. Dir. of Marketing (EndoTherapy) in Center Valley, Pennsylvania

Job Duties::

  • Lead the creation of the annual commercial business plan which outlines the vision, goals, strategies and tactics to achieve the business objectives.

  • Ensure alignment across the organization with leadership and support organization.

  • Provide direction to Product Managers on the execution of the commercial business plan including: 1) the launch of new products, 2) develop value propositions and key selling messages, 3) develop sales tools that communicate key selling messages, and 4) develop and execute clinical strategy to differentiate company products.

  • Hire and train Product Managers who are responsible for the individual product lines.

  • Provide coaching and development to broaden their skills and experiences.

  • Motivate Product Managers to achieve high levels of performance, while creating a positive team culture.

  • Develop and execute the product promotion plan to raise awareness of Olympus EndoTherapy products, including web strategy, mobile strategy, convention strategy, Professional Education strategy, etc.

  • Work closely with leaders of Sales Organization and Field Marketing Organization to ensure strong collaboration on the execution of the EndoTherapy commercial business plan, including the launch of new products, programs, promotions and other business initiatives.

  • Work closely with R&D and Global Marketing to establish the long term strategy for the EndoTherapy business.

  • Provide market research and customer feedback to identify unmet needs and help R&D translate those needs into product requirements for the new product pipeline.

  • Work closely with Senior Leadership to communicate business results and updates on key initiatives.

  • Develop and present business results during monthly and quarterly business review meetings.

  • Work closely with the supply chain organization to improve customer access to Olympus products.

  • Develop improved forecasting capabilities and provide insights into marketplace requirements with an eye towards enhancing our distribution competencies.

  • Perform all other essential duties as assigned.

Job Requirements::

(ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a related field is required; Master's Degree is strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years of total experience in sales and/or marketing is required.

  • Experience marketing products to healthcare professionals including product launch and lifecycle management is essential.

  • Experience managing people with demonstrated ability to identify, hire, direct, motivate and develop talent is preferred.

  • Experience managing direct reports within a marketing organization is necessary.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills are essential.

  • Ability to develop and execute business strategy by directing team and resources is desired.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and group presentation skills including interactions with sales and senior customer personnel are necessary.

  • Must have proven track record of managing complex projects to successful completion.

  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge are necessary.

  • Ability to motivate cross-functional resources in a matrix environment to drive business results is essential.

  • Strong business acumen with ability to translate market insights to business strategy and plans is desired.

  • Must have excellent judgment and decision making with demonstrated ability to make sound business decisions.

  • Must be able to build effective teams by creating strong morale and a culture of high performance.

  • Ability to clearly communicate business strategies and results to senior management is essential.

  • Must be able to travel domestically up to 50% of the time.

Job Description:

Center Valley, PA - The Director of Marketing is responsible for the commercial success of the business and its individual products and product lines. The incumbent is responsible for leading a team of Product Managers (SPMs/PMs/APMs) and has responsibility for a team of product managers responsible within the EndoTherapy product portfolio. As a leader in the EndoTherapy business, he/she has primary responsibilities which include: 1) develop the vision, goals, strategies and tactics for the marketing team to achieve business objectives (commercial business plan), 2) hire, train and ensure Product Managers are executing the commercial business plan, 3) overcome major problems and manage roadblocks, 4) provide management reports and updates on progress of achieving the commercial business plan, and 5) talent development on the marketing team.
