Olympus America Inc. Evergreen Requisition - Accounting Manager in Center Valley, Pennsylvania

Job Duties::

  • Maintain responsibility for the monthly accounting closing process.

  • Prepare, review and approve journal entries and ensures comprehensive supporting documentation for FIS as well as for the Medical Systems Group & Life Sciences Group, OSIA and the Corporate Finance department.

  • Maintain responsibility to ensure compliance with FIS’s, the Group’s and Corporate Accountings (collectively OAI’s) Accounting policies, procedures, processes and best practices.

  • Meet regularly with the Medical Systems Group, Life Sciences Group, Olympus Surgical Industrial America and the Corporate Finance department to stay current on Company policies and other changes that impact Olympus America’s accounting and financial reporting.

  • Supervise the financial analysis staff and mentors their development in the areas of accounting, financial and leasing knowledge, account analysis and financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principal.

  • Coordinate all Financial Accounting, and Leasing portfolio reporting for internal OAI management reports as well as for external users of financial information.

  • Maintain responsibility for the monthly FIS Incentive Commissions related to FIS, the Medical Products Group, the Life Sciences Group and Olympus Surgical Industrial America.

  • Review, edit and submit to the Director for review, monthly group financial reports, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement and finance income and expense comparisons to budget and forecast for management and external reporting.

  • Oversee the daily, weekly and monthly accounting analyses of balance sheet and income statement accounts.

  • Continuously enhance the depth of accounting analyses, focused on relevance and reliability of data, and trains financial staff to perform detailed, quality financial analysis.

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual income and expense budget and periodic forecast updates.

  • Assist in the development, drafting, communication and implementation of accounting and leasing policies.

  • Maintain responsibility for the coordination of financial audits and reviews with external auditors and Banks.

  • Maintain approval authority for group expenses, within defined limits, through analysis of purchase requisitions and comparison to budget.

  • Assist in the development of lease portfolio reporting for lenders, investors and capital markets, and directs financial staff to prepare required reporting in accordance with contractual obligations.

  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the financial reporting, maintenance and operating effectiveness of internal controls, accounting analysis, and financial product portfolio reporting related to the activities of the Olympus America Inc - Olympus Financial Services (“FIS”), and the Olympus Surgical Industrial America (“OSIA”) – Vendor Program. Job Requirements::


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required.

  • Minimum of 7 years of Accounting, Financial Reporting and Finance experience, with at least 3 most recent years experience in the leasing industry.

  • CPA or MBA is preferred.
