Olympus America Inc. Evergreen Requisition, Product Manager - CPG in Center Valley, Pennsylvania

Job Duties::

  • Develop marketing plans for assigned product segments, which contain the launch plan for new and existing products, and promotional initiatives to support the product, a plan for sales training, sales strategies to address competitive selling activities, an analysis of the current competitive situation, positioning of the product in the market, and product pricing.

  • Analyze and forecast sales and costs to ensure a profitable product introduction of new profits and maximum revenue from existing product lines.

  • Review and analyze market studies, trade literature, and internet sources to formulate ideas and opinions on areas of opportunity presented by the market place.

  • Maintaining files of competitive material for reference.

  • Compare the performance characteristics of Olympus products with those of competitive products. Attending training classes on Olympus products.

  • Translate performance characteristic superiority into benefits for the customer who purchases Olympus products.

  • Assist in the development of product literature based on an in-depth understanding of the key elements of the market.

  • Formulate an objective for each piece of literature produced.

  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing to develop strategic advertising and public relations plans.

  • Provide leadership and direction to the product launch team through all phases of product pre-launch, which include establishing appropriate inventory levels of product, arranging for a complete product evaluation.

  • Send out notices to all sales personnel to take and process orders, developing and delivering training to Olympus personnel to effectively sell the new product.

  • Maintain control of expenses within company policies.

  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing in the design of merchandising, packaging and literature to support sales activities.

  • Track and evaluate product performance and sales after product launch.

  • Monitor consumer satisfaction.

  • Communicate details of dealer visits to Olympus Tokyo.

  • Monitoring initial product sales and tracks against projected sales, revenue, and profit.

  • Develop and implement counter-trend strategies, e.g. special promotions, when sales are lower than projections.

  • Monitor and evaluate the competition’s response to the new product introduction.

  • Initiate appropriate action to counter competitive activities.

  • Initiate price changes in response to changing market conditions.

  • Prepare and submit reports on market trends.

  • Perform other related duties as directed.

Job Requirements::


  • A Bachelor Degree in Marketing or Business Administration (MBA preferred), or equivalent experience and knowledge, is required.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Product Marketing is required.
