The Executive Director of Marketing for EndoTherapy maintains responsibility for managing Olympus Americas business in support of the products, procedures, and solutions for EndoTherapy. He / she for the business management addressing all aspects of commercializing these products and services in the Americas, including P&L responsibility, forecasting, product launch, sales support, training, promotion, customer engagement, and other areas. Prior to commercialization, the position maintain responsibility for driving a strong collaborative relationship with Olympus Japan (OMSC) and upstream technical marketing, to ensure that the optimal products are being developed in alignment with the needs of the targeted customers in the Americas. This position will set the long-term strategy for the EndoTherapy business, through the Corporate Strategic Planning process, and ensure alignment and execution through the annual business planning process. The Executive Director of EndoTherapy will be a core member of the Endoscopy Division Management team, while having full accountability for members of the EndoTherapy marketing teams. This person will be expected to work closely and productively with their counterparts and colleagues in Endoscopy Sales and Marketing, Service Marketing, Financial Services, Corporate Accounts, Surgical Sales and Marketing, Educational Services, Marketing Services, etc., as well as others, to maximize the realized opportunity for Olympus Endoscopy in the Americas.
In a typical day, you will:
Development and management of marketing programs targeting national and local market segments.
Coordinating and integrating the activities of various support services, including the Corporate Accounts and financial services groups with marketing.
Responding to and resolving product quality and customer service issues.
Maintaining awareness of the competitive environment and reacting appropriately.
Field visits to understand markets and desires from customers and sales resources.
Directs product planning activity in conjunction with the R&D organization in Tokyo to develop successful new product launches.
Ensure that future products developed by Olympus accurately address the needs of OAI s market. Manage HCP relationships involving product development and market research activities.
Integrate development activities of all product areas and coordinate with other product groups within MSG.
Identify opportunities for new products, and source products through local or Olympus channels.
Support Olympus Tokyo in activities associated with the creation of alliances and acquisitions.
Develop annual business plans that align with the long-term strategy of the entire EndoTherapy product portfolio, while meeting short term objectives for revenue and operating income.
Develop long term strategic plans for EndoTherapy product lines during the strategic planning process.
Work closely with all sales and marketing teams to ensure agreed upon alignment of strategies and maximize leveraging. Participate as a core member of the Endoscopy Division management team.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree is required.
Minimum 10 years of business or marketing experience, preferably in medical devices or a healthcare related field.
Must be able to travel domestically up to 40%, and internationally for 2 to 3 trips per year.
* Travel will include occasional weekends.
Master’s Degree is preferred.
Minimum 2 years of healthcare sales preferred.
Clinical Experience preferred.
Strong leadership skills and proven ability to effectively managing people.
Strong organizational and teambuilding skills.
Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills.
