Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

We have a new opportunity for an Information Security Engineer in the Enterprise Information Security, Cyber Threat Management organization. The individual selected for this position will work as part of the Cyber Threat Intelligence team to automate threat research on surface and dark web, collecting data for information relevant to cyber threats targeting Wells Fargo, its customers and business partners. The candidate will also study current and emerging cyber-attacks against financial sector assets and participate in discussions that enable cyber threat awareness of observed threat activity in the sector.

  • Work with partner teams and vendors to design and implement automated intelligence collection capability to conduct cyber threat intelligence Research in a more automated way.

  • Development and automation of online data sources using various scripting and development languages.

  • Actively monitor and research cyber threats on the Internet and Dark web with a direct or indirect impact/relevance to financial services, business operations, technology infrastructure, and client trust.

  • Open source data collection & analysis platforms to utilize.

  • Conduct authenticated searches of key websites.

  • Conduct research and write papers based on the identification of trends, up-and-coming threats, and tailor products to intended customers.

  • Participate in intelligence sharing session to review cyber threat deliverables, intelligence gap support requests, guide analytic discussions and nominate topics to cover during the calls.

Note: The preferred work locations are Charlotte, NC, Minneapolis, MN, or Chandler, AZ, but we will consider other Wells Fargo locations or telecommute.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of information security applications and systems experience

  • 2+ years of scripting and automation experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced Information Security technical skills

  • Ability to manage complex issues and develop solutions

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Scripting and automation experience

  • 1+ year of risk and threat management experience

  • Ability to identify and manage complex issues and negotiate solutions within a geographically dispersed organization

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to present complex material in a digestible, consumable manner to all levels of management

  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment

  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment

  • A BS/BA degree or higher

  • Financial services industry experience

  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
