Job Summary

AECOM has an opportunity for a Data Strategist III supporting our government program data portfolio based in the Washington Metro Area.

Candidates must have experience in Data Architecture or Multimodal Data Fusion, as well as prior work with engineering and infrastructure data and emerging technologies. and will be responsible for data assessment, data security, analytics, strategy, and BI. This position will have software and consulting resources.

The Data Strategist is responsible for working with all teams and activities associated with data/knowledge movement throughout the program(s) and implementing new data-centric protocols and innovative technologies and practices. The selectee will act as a strategist, innovator, and leader. The selectee will define the strategic goals and assume responsibility for developing a secure cutting-edge enterprise data environment that enables and scales to support large facilities operations and maintenance contracts. Specific areas of development required include: digital vulnerabilities, data security, asset management, project closeout, program data reconciliation, data migration to mobile and new fields of multimodal data capture.

The ideal candidate will be well versed in both enterprise end-to-end analytics as well as functional application of infrastructure data. They will help establish the vision and strategic capability to enhance the company's performance on contracts by effectively leveraging machine learning methods, cybersecurity practices, geospatial technologies, building information modeling, and other emerging digital engineering paradigms. This individual will manage specified software use for the purpose of analytics and is accountable for obtaining, analyzing and translating data into useful, innovative solutions across a host of facility support disciplines. They will be accountable for the strategic direction and oversight of data security, database integration, data modeling, unstructured data, big data, statistical modeling, economic modeling, machine learning, data visualization, and other quantitative and analytical skills that contribute directly to the development of predictive models and analytics that improve contract execution and increase the competitiveness of the company's solutions.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assessing and assuring the integrity and security of project data, including data capture, extraction, storage, manipulation, processing, and analysis.

  • Collecting and collating appropriate data for usage in databases and conducting related research.

  • Discussing business intelligence needs or information with external clients and internal staff as part of the digital transformation team.

  • Responsible for BI software administration, integration, and program use.

  • Responsible for ensuring BI software and data is used in accordance with AECOM and Customer regulations and requirements.

  • Interpreting accurately variables from original information or data and completing statistical analyses as required.

  • Preparing and making presentations.

  • Monitoring and maintaining the quality nature of software, systems, and tools used to evaluate program and performance data.

  • Analyzing data with standard statistical methods, interpreting the results, and providing written summaries of data analyses.

  • Sharing the knowledge of analysis techniques and data coding with other staff.

  • Working with consultants to design and develop statistical analyses, which address projected research questions.

  • Participating in ongoing decisions concerning data collections, study design, methodology, and data analysis and visualization mechanisms.

  • Collaborate with the emerging digital transformation team to affect demonstrable change to our processes.

  • Evaluating the data that comes in from each department and creating actionable reporting/analysis/intelligence

  • Making reports that compile the data into simple and understandable formats for the management

  • Preparing reports and proposals in the stipulated time

  • As part of the digital transformation team: coordinate with program, Customer, and internal AECOM constituents as required

  • Analyze and make use of the statistics and the programs provided by the company

  • Work closely with the digital transformation leads and data analytics groups to support senior management and help them make complex business decisions

  • Knowledge of data collection, data processing, data visualization, and data analysis pipelines and platforms

  • Knowledge of 2D/3D/4D, geospatial, and/or multispectral data integration a plus

  • Business acumen and numerical ability.

  • Must possess solid communication skills.

  • Willingness to adhere to all principles of confidentiality.

  • Must value operating in a collaborative and cooperative environment.

  • Ability to show initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness.

  • Experience in Data Management methodologies and applied activities

  • Background in innovative use of emerging technologies and integrations thereof for expanded analysis

  • Knowledge of and experience in working with Infrastructure data: construction projects, operations and maintenance of facilities and sites, finance, etc.

  • Some travel may be required.

  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS security clearance with polygraph.

  • Bachelor's degree in Research, Statistics, Marketing, Engineering, or any related field from an accredited institution.

  • 2-4 years of related experience.

  • Familiar with system design and development skill as well as database-related skills.

  • Knowledge of full system life cycle from requirements though database design and implementation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Actively, fully adjudicated TS/SCI w/poly is preferred.
