What You’ll Get to Do:
The MS SQL DBA is responsible for supporting, monitoring, testing and troubleshooting issues related to databases running MS SQL. They will support TSA's highly complex DBA systems including integration, security, and administration. This individual provides input regarding future direction and growth of the MS SQL databases, performing design and implementation of enterprise wide infrastructures.
More About the Role:
Design and Create database systems, from server design, drive allocation, network configuration, etc.
Installation, Administration and Maintenance of SQL Server Instances.
Setup a Test, Development, Staging and Production Environment.
Create Users and Assign Database Permissions.
Design Incident Recovery Plan (Database Backup and Recovery Planning).
Database Monitoring (Database Performance, Scheduled Jobs, and Database Backup Jobs).
Recovery of Database Backups for Testing and Development Requests.
Failover Clustering, Always-On Availability, etc.
Troubleshoot Performance Issues (Database Settings, Optimizing queries, Altering Indexes, ETL Development, etc.).
Troubleshoot Server, Network, or User Connectivity Issues.
Development (Creating new tables, new indexes, new stored procedures, new jobs, etc.).
Apply Service Packs.
Server Upgrades (From one version of SQL Server to the next).
Work with program, project and engineering managers to mitigate operational and technical risks.
Inform management in a clear, concise, and timely manner of any customer or technical issues.
Satisfactorily complete and maintain quarterly internal training and certification standards..
Maintain a professional attitude and appearance while exhibiting a personable, polite and patient behavior at all times.
Be responsive and decisive on adjusting architecture as customer requirements, market conditions and technology evolves.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Ability to obtain a DOD Security Clearance
Ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD)
BA/BS or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years related work experience
Candidate must have experience with router, switches, and firewalls and knowledge of routing and switching protocols in a large enterprise environment
Proven communicator and leader. Must be able to work well in an environment facilitating a large group of government and other contractor personnel to achieve a common goal
Flexible – The environment is highly dynamic. You will be expected to keep up with the changing environment while ensuring a high level operational effectiveness
Team Player – This role is part of a much larger team. You will be expected to grow and development subordinate team members’ moral and well-being while supporting the overall goals of the program
