We are searching for a Registered Nurse Manager for our Wound, Ostomy and Continence Services.. The RN Manager is responsible for serving as a clinical resource, educator, and consultant to the Trident Health System Staff in developing and implementing the plan of care for patients with specific disorders of the Gastrointestinal and Genitourinary, and Integumentary Systems including ostomies, fistulae, tubes, dermal wounds, and incontinence.
• Assist TH staff to maintain competencies in the areas of Wound, Ostomy and Continence • Consultant for outpatient ostomy patients (stoma marking, teaching, troubleshooting the difficult stoma) • Demonstrates leadership within the role of the WOCN Coordinator • Educates and precepts students regarding WOC Services • Maintains WOC guidelines consistent with WOCN recommendations • Organizes discharge plan for WOC population • Participates in 20 hours of WOC related Continuing Education annually
Employee will be responsible for coordinating and serving as administrator for inpatient WOC Services for Trident Medical Center. Key responsibilities include:
• Assists TH WOC staff maintain competencies • Complete yearly evaluations for all WOC staff • Coordinates (directly or in directly) the Good Skin Committee and Skin Prevalence Program • Develops policies, procedures, and patient educational resources. • Maintains all activities related to the personnel management of the WOC staff including monthly staff meetings • Manage adequate staffing for WOC department • Manages fiscal processes for the department • Oversee ordering of WOC supplies • Oversee pressure injury tracking for TH • Oversee revision of NDNQI forms and data entry regarding Skin Prevalence Program • Participates in committees/teams for regulatory compliance as assigned
a)Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current license as a Registered Nurse to practice in the State of South Carolina. • BLS
b)Education: • BSN • MSN Preferred
c)Experience: • WOC Nursing Experience • Past supervisory experience preferred • Performs in accordance with delineated job responsibilities and satisfactorily completes a yearly evaluation based on these responsibilities • Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively meet the needs of the patient/internal & external customer
d) Special qualifications: • Graduated from an accredited WOCN Education Program • Wound, Ostomy & Continence Nurse (WOCN) Certification
