Job Description:

The role supports credit transactions and issues involving high net worth (Private Bank and Brokerage customers referred to bank) clients, including securities-based loans, custom credit facilities secured by real estate, other assets and other financial products, with emphasis on developing and maintaining forms, procedures and processes as well as providing time sensitive advice and support on individual transactions, including consumer and lending regulations applicable to lending. Position will involve interaction with a range of demanding clients including underwriters, client managers and document preparation groups as well as outside counsel and internal legal teams.

Enterprise Description:

Provides general legal counsel to AMGs private banking businesses, as well as specific advice on products, services and certain legal actions. Reviews legal contracts and documents. Directly, or through staff, conducts legal research. May represent the bank in legal actions. Individuals in this position typically have a minimum of six years of experience since admission to the Bar.

Required Skills:

  • The candidate should have at least 7 years’ relevant experience.

  • In depth understanding of lending documentation and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 required, and familiarity with bank regulations is a plus.

  • Must have a strong work ethic and the ability to handle multiple tasks, balance risk and reward and interact effectively with colleagues and clients.

  • Must be admitted to at least one state bar (active/good standing)
