Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Community Lending and Investment (CLI) is responsible for investing debt and equity capital for economic development, job creation and affordable housing in areas of need nationwide. The vertically integrated group offers a suite of debt and equity products, including Low Income Housing Tax Credits, New Market Tax Credits, construction finance and permanent finance for affordable housing, and Charter School Finance, serving for-profit and non-profit developers and other organizations.

Community Lending and Investment (CLI) originates, develops, and manages Wells Fargo Bank’s affordable housing lending and equity products. CLI Equity specializes in helping developers and investors take advantage of tax credit opportunities by investing in Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) properties. CLI is a national leader in affordable housing finance with offices across the U.S. The group has approximately 200 members.

The* Client Service Consultant 3 / Closing Coordinator* is responsible for coordinating due diligence and compliance requirements associated with closing an equity investment deal. The ideal candidate should have previous closing experience with affordable multifamily deals. Favorable background experience could include: commercial title, research, commercial real estate documentation/closing, paralegal work, Salesforce, and project management.

Functions include:

  • Create and maintain an extensive checklist for each deal in an assigned portfolio to track receipt of required diligence for closing

  • Manage large volumes of emails and documents from inception through closing, maintaining well organized files

  • Prepare for, and participate in, deal team calls

  • Order and track receipt of flood searches, credit investigations and zoning reports

  • Possess strong knowledge of compliance requirements, as well as, BSA and other federal regulations

  • Track completion of compliance related items to ensure requirements are met prior to closing

  • Coordinate with Deal Managers, Construction Review Coordinators, Underwriters, Debt Team Members, and others throughout the deal

  • Complete post-closing tasks, including uploading documents to FileNet

  • Assist with, or independently complete ad hoc requests/projects, as needed

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following, and adhering to and if applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of client service experience
