Leads the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget.
Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle solution meets the customer s objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to deliver functional and technical solutions on non-routine and very complex aspects of applications and technology installations. Provides direction and mentoring to project teams, and effectively influences customer leadership on key decisions. Supports the business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain expertise. Resolves complex customer issues by recommending and implementing solutions. Demonstrates expertise in multiple business processes across two or more product families or ability to architect and design technology solutions encompassing multiple products and make decisions based on impact across the stack.
8-10 years of experience relevant to this position including 4 years of consulting experience. Prior team leadership or management experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. The North America Consulting IaaS Delivery Practice provides architecture and implementation specialists that deliver professional services that align with and support the North America Sales organization and Oracle customer base.
The IaaS team consists of highly skilled consultants with deep technical knowledge that provide expert architecture guidance and implementation assistance with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services and Oracle infrastructure technology.
Some of the responsibilities include:
Accelerate IaaS & PaaS adoption and usage by customers and partners.
Assist Cloud sales teams to architect and scope new engagements and solutions that grow Oracle Cloud adoption
Develop reusable Intellectual Property (IP) for the Consulting Delivery organization to help drive delivery efficiency and customer value.
Provide feedback to IaaS & PaaS Product Engineering teams regarding product deficiencies and enhancements
The Cloud Infrastructure Architect is a hands-on role focused on designing and implementing customer solutions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and providing technical leadership/mentoring to junior delivery resources.
This individual serves as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor who facilitates the migration and deployment of workloads from on-premise environments or other 3rd party Clouds, to OCI. He/She works closely with key customers, to provide technical know-how, architectural guidance, and detailed design and implementation expertise, with the primary objective of assisting customers in getting to production status, and realizing the business value of the solution in OCI.
The Cloud Infrastructure Architect manages creation and delivery of technical content, including detailed Cloud designs that function as build specifications, technical oversight of OCI build and migration efforts, and focus on automation and reusability.
In this role, the architect will engage with a wide cross section of internal and external stakeholders Sales, Development, Support, and third party partners to drive cloud adoption efforts. Desired Skills and Experience:
8 years of work experience in any combination of engineering, and consulting in cloud computing, with increasing responsibilities, and with a special focus on infrastructure design and automation from the networking layer up.
Hands on skills with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or solutions from other providers, such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure etc. would be of advantage, especially with PaaS and IaaS.
Cloud deployment automation experience with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef
Strong knowledge of networking that includes:
o Software Defined Networks in cloud environments.
o Understanding of VPN solutions, MPLS, and enterprise network equipment like routers, firewalls, and switches.
Good understanding of general storage technologies, implementation methods and techniques.
Good understanding of IaaS Compute and operating systems, and compute migration methodologies and implementation techniques.
Knowledge and understanding of DevOps and cloud computing with hands-on experience in any of the following technologies:
o GIT, Chef / Puppet, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, and Mezos.
o Experience with scripting languages, such as Python and Bash, JSON
Strong experience with configuring & maintaining the Linux and/or Windows Operating Systems. Experience configuring these systems with technologies like Ansible is very desirable.
Working knowledge of Active Directory
Networking and Virtualization expertise With Oracle VM, VMWare, KVM, Hyper-V
Background in Oracle on-premise technology products, especially in the area of Oracle Middleware (Weblogic,SOA, BPM), or database (RAC, Data Guard, Golden Gate)
Analysis of cloud strategies, design and development of tools for Oracle products deployment in OCI.
Proven ability in performing rapid assessments of clients internal technology landscape and targeting use cases and deployments for Oracle Cloud technology.
B.Tech /M.Tech in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience
Legally entitled to work in the US
Ability to travel throughout the US and Canada, Mon Thurs or as needed
