Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

This Credit Portfolio Consultant 4 is a key individual who will be responsible for Personal Lines & Loans (PL&L) underwriting criteria.

Duties may include:

  • Determining appropriate strategies that ensure risk is within risk appetite

  • Developing and implementing strategies, programs, and policies with a direct and significant impact on credit risk appetite and culture

  • Acting as a technical expert for senior management on highly complex issues

  • Performing complex analysis and/or modeling that maximizes profits and/or asset growth and minimizes credit, operating losses, and reputation/compliance risk exposures

  • Developing analytical tools for evaluating strategy effectiveness and business impact

  • Partnering with Marketing and Finance teams to drive improvements in targeting and profitability across all channels

  • Partnering with Corporate Credit to better integrate data-driven strategies with policy requirements

  • Partnering with various credit, deposit, and product groups and external vendors to develop effective ways to manage new account decisions, and leverage best practices and new data

  • Maintaining timelines and providing business case development and approval

  • Managing roll-out of company-wide pilot programs developed as a result of programmed models

  • Monitoring new originations and developing benchmarks regarding growth, mix, delinquency, losses, and overall profitability and performance

  • May direct or coach the work of lower level consultants

  • Other responsibilities as needed

The Credit Portfolio Consultant 4 will actively manage risk while leading and implementing ideas in a cross-functional team environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of SQL or SAS experience

  • 8+ years of risk experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline
